Numerous arts and sports entities and supporters have invested $3 billion over the past decade, or so, in Kansas City. Is this the beginning of Kansas City's Golden Age? The Kansas City Star's Hampton Stevens thinks so. See if you agree: "The Golden Year Kansas City Came Of Age" What do you think? Agree/dissagree & why? Better news for residential Sellers or Buyers or both? If not local to KC, how does this compare to what is going on in your area? Thanks for stopping-by and for your thoughtful remarks and insights--looking forward to your comments below...

kansas city: Don't Let The Pipes Freeze in KC This Winter!!! - 12/04/10 08:41 AM
With temps now dipping below freezing in the Kansas City area, thought it prudent to share a couple of very important winter-water-service-related items: 1. Don't assume because a property is vacant and water service has been cancelled, that water has been turned-off--NOT the norm for the KC Water Department. IMPORTANT INFO: KCWSD NO LONGER TURNS OFF WATER WHEN MOVE OUT IS REQUESTED 2. Even if heat is on, make sure your property is protected from winter water freezes! IMPORTANT INFO: KCWSD WINTERIZATION TIPS FOR HOMEOWNERS Hope this info. helps you keep old man winter out of your water

Blue Springs, Missouri, centered approx. 20 miles east of downtown Kansas City, MO, and--FWIW--the hometown of American Idol David Cook, has just been recognized as one of 'America's Best Places to Raise Your Kids: 2010' by BusinessWeek Magazine. Reasons cited include award-winning schools, great community amenities, convenient location, and affordability. And, in a double-win for the region, Runner-up Lee's Summit, Missouri (Musical luminary Pat Metheny's hometown!), is located about 13 miles southwest of Blue Springs. The Full Story: Best Place to Raise Your Kids: Missouri--Blue Springs CONGRATULATIONS to BOTH outstanding Kansas City-metro communities!!!, -JC/CBA
