In the residential real estate market of Yarmouth Maine, the 3rd quarter of 2011 has seen a 60% increase in transactions compared to a year earlier. 40 homes sold during this quarter. The median price remained about the same as last year at this time – with a 268K average. This is consistent with the area as a whole – southern Maine saw no change in median price from the 3rd quarter of 2010 to the 3rd quarter of 2011. In the real estate markets of Yarmouth Maine in the month of January saw 7 residential homes and condos sold at a median sales price of 235K after sitting on the market for 56 days. This represents a volume decrease of 49% compared with December 2010. The median sales price was significantly down compared with a year prior as well as a month prior, but this is more a result of the smaller sample size and not real price depreciation.
