Oktoberfest is one of the most famous events in Germany and is the world’s largest fair.  Oktoberfest was originally started as royal event to celebrate the marriage of soon to be King Ludwig to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen.  Boy, that was … (8 comments)

ActiveRain - What is the True Meaning Behind the Community?
First off, let me start out by saying that this post has been in draft mode just waiting to be finished for several months now, but I was waiting for the right time to do so.  Well, I feel after my experiences over the last several months here on ActiveRain, that there could be no better time than now to post this, so here it goes.  Secondly, I apologize, it is kind of a long post, but hopefully worth your time.
After several conversations with other agents over the past couple … (35 comments)

The Cat Conundrum Continues! - 09/18/11 11:57 PM
The Cat Conundrum Continues!
As many of you know that have been following my Cat Conundrum Series over the last couple of weeks or so, you know after recently loosing our Dear Black Lab “Moose” at the end of July, that not too long after that a furry little creature who we now call “Misu” showed up at our house and basically adopted us.  And we have since then adopted him.
I like how Don Sabinske of Don Sabinske & Associates recently put it in a comment on the Cat Conundrum Revisited post,  “Your Cat was a gift from Moose.  And what … (12 comments)

Who is This Person and Why are They Important? | Back to School Series
Okay, so I know in my last post, I said tune back in next week for my next statue post, well next week came early.  I decided that because there currently is not an unanswered post in one of my favorite groups at ActiveRain: Statues of the World, that I would go ahead and post this one.  Also because this is a part of my back to school series, we need to keep those brains revved up even over the weekend.

Who is This Reptile? | Why is He Important? | Where Does He Reside? | Answer
I would have posted the answer to this question a week or so ago, if not for the fact that I have been very busy with training and working with new clients at my new office at RE/MAX Heritage.
It is time to get back on the band wagon with my back to school series of statues post, but first we must anwer the question posed above since no one was able to guess the correct answer.
So Who is this GREEN Godzilla … (5 comments)

Someone Is In The Dog House & It’s Not Our Dogs!
What started out as a routine drive home from Bark-N-Lounge, our doggie day care facility located in Keller, Texas turned into anything but routine once me and our 3 doggies arrived home yesterday.
After a long afternoon spent at my new real estate office, RE/MAX Heritage, attending a Power Class earlier in the day and then a Heritage Fall Festival planning meeting, accompanied by a few errands on the way home before leaving to go pick up the dogs, I called my wife on the way home from Bark-N-Lounge trying … (11 comments)

Are You a Multitasker? - My Dog "Journey" Is!
When trying to decide what to do for a video entry into ActiveRain’s 1st Annual Talent Competition, lots of ideas began swimming through my head, but timing, production, and some technical challenges limited my options at this time.  If this were taking place a couple of months from now, it might be a different story.
Originally, you were supposed to be getting ready to watch myself and several friends taking part in an actual live talent competition aboard a Carnival Cruise ship that we were on back in like 1998.  We … (14 comments)

While out and about this past Friday in Southlake, Texas after visiting our Chiropractor, my wife and I were starving and trying to figure out where to go and grab a quick bite to eat.  So we headed over to the Southlake Town Square.
There are many shops and restaurants to choose from in Southlake Town Square.  Since it had been a while since we had been in there, we opted for Five Guys Burger and Fries while there.  Five Guys Burger and Fries is recognized as one … (8 comments)

Reflections of 9/11 2011 | A Tribute to Those Lost
While words will never be able to be expressed to ease the pain and suffering of those lives lost on 11 September 2001, and the many lives lost since then from first responders and recovery workers who died of diseases by what they inhaled during the recovery process to the thousands of military men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country, I can only hope that these pictures in some small way show you that they were not forgotten.  Nor will they ever be.

The Cat Conundrum; Revisited! - 09/10/11 11:56 PM
The Cat Conundrum; Revisited!
To say the last month or so has been uneventful would be an understatement of the largest proportions!  It all started with me taking and passing my Texas Real Estate Broker Exam toward the end of July.  The joy of passing my broker exam was then overshadowed a few days later when we lost our Dear Black Lab “Moose”.
I then received my official Texas Real Estate Broker License a few days later.  This was followed up by a week or so of me researching, contemplating, soul searching, and then ultimately deciding to become a part of … (15 comments)

Okay, so in my last few posts, I have highlighted me receiving my new Real Estate Broker License, from the Texas Real Estate Commission and how you can successfully pass your Salesperson or Broker Licensing Exam on your first try.  But the question still remains, now that I have that broker license, what's next?  I have been alluding to the decision on where I have decided to hang my real estate hat, so hang on, we’ll get to that in just a minute.

Where Were You That Faithful Day?
Where were you that faithful day in September nearly ten years ago?  A week from today marks the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our nation.  Do you remember what you were doing that morning that changed the course of history and our nation forever?
I remember where I was, even though I was a licensed REALTOR at the time, I was an aircraft dispatcher (fully time )on duty with a cargo airline located in north Dallas (Addison).  We had planes in the air just like many other airlines and companies across the … (10 comments)

I normally don’t like shameless self-promotion, but I thought in this particular case due to the gravity of the situation, it was warranted.  Also, this post is about a month overdue, but I did not feel like posting it at the time due to the loss of our dear black lab “Moose”.

The Cat Conundrum! - 09/02/11 11:56 PM
The Cat Conundrum!
First off, my wife and I are animal lovers in general, all of God’s creatures great and small.  Secondly, for most of my childhood and adult life, I have also been a dog lover.  Have never been much of a cat person, got nothing personal against cats, its just the last time I owned a cat was back in like elementary school.  I had one of those cats that looked exactly like “Morris” the Cat.
You see, up until about a month ago we were a four doggie household.  For the last ten to fifteen years or … (20 comments)
