What Christmas means to me: Hope - 12/20/08 08:14 AM
"She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1: 18 – 25 )
I went past the local Baptist Church. There was a wooden Cross outside. In the middle of the Cross was a Christmas decoration. A big red and gold bow. I thought to myself, ";even the Christian Church misses the whole point and they’ve wrapped up God as some Christmas present!"; Then, God said: ";There you go again, John!" "You're the one that missed the point, why not call attention to my Cross?";
How did we get from … (0 comments)

Sheriff Sales in Michigan...foreclosures - 12/20/08 07:35 AM
In the Hilton Head, SC area, we are seening even luxury homes falling into foreclosure. It is important for consumers to know what options are available to them make good choices and act quickly. So many foreclosures could be avoided if those who are in trouble would seek the help of knowledgeable professionals instead of sticking their heads in the sand.

If God told you to build an ark, would you? - 12/17/08 07:11 AM
What do you face today? What difficulty? What trial? You say, "I can't face the day, I can't go on...Christian, you are right YOU cannot. But, The Jesus in YOU can...
"The strength of faith is directly related to the strength of what (*who) you believe in." (Ray Stedman, commentary on the letter to the Hebrews) (*my alteration of the quote)
What is FAITH?

The Brevity of Life: Yesterday, my friend went home - 12/09/08 08:41 AM
My friend Tony went home to continue his eternal life in heaven. I will really miss him. For me, there have only been  three that I've ever considered true friends, those who accept you warts and all, who'll overlook your faults, who'll be honest with you. You know what I mean.
I will cherish the time I had Tony as a true friend. But, this is what I want to share today: Tony and I met just before thanksgiving for our usual get-together. The conversation over breakfast usually revolved around our Faith and politics as it did that morning. We got … (15 comments)

Will Somebody Find Something for Jesse Jackson to Do? - 12/05/08 03:41 PM
This off of the web site of the man who wanted to emasculate the President-elect:
"I congratulate Barack Obama on such a triumphant victory. There is joy and achievement in this victory. Barack Obama represents renewal of trust and confidence, faith and hope for changes in America.... The martyrs and marchers worked to tear down the walls that kept us apart. Now Barack Obama has access to the bridge to bring us together. This bridge leads us closer to closing the disparities and inequality in our national family...." (That brige is probably in a state of disrepair, like much of our … (3 comments)

Bluffton Auto Dealers Slump And 21 Ways to FIX the Auto Industry - 12/05/08 12:13 PM
Sales have been dismal at dealers across the country, including the O. C. Welch Ford Lincoln Mercury dealership in Bluffton, South Carolina. There sales dropped from from an average of 150 million dollars in business in recent years, to barely 60 million in business this year, according to the  president of the O.C. Welch dealership They have also lost 64% of their workforce, not good for the local economy, for sure.
Mr Welch is not a fan of the bailout in the form of loans to the Big Three. Instead he hopes the government earmarks money to help the economy, giving people … (4 comments)

Please pray for a friend and his family - 12/03/08 03:02 PM
First of all thank you to all who prayed for my friend Maria. It seems like I am asking you for prayer all the time. This time a dear friend, Tony went to visit family in Massachusetts for thanksgiving. We usually meet once a month to fellowship. I sent him and email to see about meeting and heard from his wife that he is in  ICU in South Shore Hospital MA. He had pneumonia and dehydration that snowballed ...went into cardiac arrest and he is now in a induced coma. He has multiple problems but main one is brain damage.
If you would … (13 comments)

The One (Obama) Goes to Church at The Temple of the Gym - 12/02/08 08:49 AM
After so many attempts to tell the world that he is indeed a man of deep faith, I  wonder how that is lived out in the case of The One.
Since his election, The One has yet to attend a church service. His excuse--offered by an aide--was  that attendance at any church would "cause a disturbance" and he certainly didn't want to do that.
I hear what he is saying about his deep faith, but I don't really see any evidence of it. Former president President-elects (Bush, Clinton) Had no problem "causing a disturbance" in a church after their elections. They went to … (16 comments)

The Thanksgiving is in Christmas - 12/01/08 12:14 PM
Christmas is a hard time of year for many people. The loss of a loved one, a home, or a relationship can bring so much sadness. Christmas is almost upon us and it is very sad to hear about the "shopping-related" deaths that happened on the infamous black Friday. I know it made so many just really sick.
I am grateful for all that God provides. All the  usual things: family, health, etc. But, there is a gift which is available to every single human being on the face of the earth that is worth more than any loss or all the … (5 comments)
