Broom Factories: the solution for economic recovery - 01/28/09 09:06 PM
The "Spending Bill" Passed 244-188. It's not the best solution for getting our economy going. I have a better solution. We are a nation of consumers, not producers. We buy goods manufactured in foreign countries from factories who employ low cost labor and beat our brains out on price. This is part of our problem. If you don't make stuff in this country, you don't sell stuff here. If you don't make stuff here, you don't employ Americans. If you don't make stuff and sell it to Americans, there is no consumption--especially here--and therefore, no money flows into the economy. Follow? I know

The 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Bill: A Disaster in the Making - 01/27/09 08:49 PM
THEY ARE VOTING ON THIS MOTHER OF ALL GOVERNMENT SPENDING PACKAGES ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 28, 2009 I think this so called stimulus package is an outrage and an assault on our freedoms. To me it amounts to taxation with insane representation. Each dollar the government spends comes from where? US. We are getting yet another "bail out" jammed down our throats. What we hear from sincere, well-meaning people is that "the economy is in trouble and we need to do something"-but throwing money at the problem is not and has never been the answer. Both Democrats and Republicans need to be

Seven Days Obama's First Term is telling... - 01/27/09 12:20 PM
I think Obama has done some terrible things and has opened this country up to: attacks by extermists, opened the floodgates for abortion and is moving us along to socialism faster than we think. Closing Gitmo is a bad idea. It means we aren't going to get information which is gotten on a continuous basis from these criminals. Interrogation is too in humane, say the liberals. These criminals must have "due process". Are they citizens of the US? No. Obama has made a mockery of the progress we made in the fight against terrorism. But, folks there is a bigger problem: Terror Cells

Managing Money And Your Mind: Things you can do to maintain a "Sunny Attitude" in our current economy - 01/27/09 08:55 AM
The local news promotes one thing. Bad news. Bad news creates bad attitudes and causes us to fear--if we choose to listen, Now is the time to turn off the news and focus on What matters most to you. Here are four thought-starters for fighting the negative news and surviving the economic cycle. 1. Manage Money Much Better. Brainstorm ways to save money. What can you cut out. Look for ways to supplement your income--a home based business may be ideal (here's one I recommend) 2. Prioritize how you spend time. spending more time with family, with people who are important

Your First Important Meeting Can Change Your Attitude & Outlook on Life - 01/27/09 08:08 AM
We are a busy people. Often, we have no time for the most important person in our lives, the living God.If I miss my time with God, I can tell you , may day just does not go as well as it could. In the book of Exodus, God goes to great lengths to lay out His plan for Worship: the plan for the priestly garments, the tent of meeting, the temple sanctuary, the place for His covenant. He did this after the people Israel fell into idolatry. (See Exodus Chapter 33 through 40) Photo from The Temple of God It

How home sellers can reduce the days on the market in Bluffton-Okatie South Carolina - 01/22/09 06:41 AM
Here are just two major suggestions that can go a long way to helping home sellers reduce the days that their homes remain on the market. (1) Price your home to sell, not sit. In mid-December, I listed a home in Rivers End (Okatie). Rivers End is a small subdivision outside of Bluffton in Okatie, where there are about 200 homes. There is new construction north and south--5-7 miles from this home-- at price points that compete with anything in River's End. All along route 170 new construction abounds. Builders are giving all kinds of incentives. This is tough competition for resales.

Sun City Hilton Head Market Activity is Picking Up - 01/21/09 12:17 PM
Sun City Hilton Head Activity has really picked up. I have been showing properties like crazy. I've spoken with other agents and they confirm that activity has really picked up. Last week, one of my buyer prospects saw a hot buy and asked me to measure rooms for her. When I got there, the home was being inspected (listing wasn't updated !) Thhe point is, good deals are going to get sold and quickly. Current inventory has dropped from a high of 265 actives to 212 actives. So, if you're a buyer who is interested in Sun City Hilton Head. Now
