Below is my response to a recent question on Trulia.com.  A buyer indicated that investment properties listed on Loopnet and elsewhere seem to be picked over before many potential buyers can take a look at them.  In my answer, I offer a different approach to finding good properties that I thought might be of interest to all real estate investors and future home owners.

What's the point of online social networking?  While some networkers prefer nothing more than to remain in front of a glowing tube or flat screen collecting "friends" like trophies in a display case, I believe that most online citizens seek something more on the other end of the rainbow.  In my never-too-humble view, online networking should be just a vehicle for the journey, not a destination itself.
