We've all heard the phrase, "Like Father, Like Son".  Growing up, I've always heard the phrase, "Oh wow, you look so much like your Dad"!  What can I say, I am his son, and we have a lot in common.  Yes, we look a lot alike, but we act a lot alike too.  I guess he passed down his genes, which includes looks, mannerisms, voice, etc.  When I was younger, I kind of wanted to be seen as just my own person, and it bothered me a little bit.  Now that I am old enough to appreciate the sacrifices that my parents made to invest in my brothers and sisters, that still continue to this day, I don't mind hearing that at all, because I am proud to be their son.

Think about how you were raised, and how it's no coincidence, that who you are today, has a lot to do with how you were raised.  Maybe you didn't have a father, or mother, but someone most likely had a significant influence on you growing up.  Most likely they passed on their family traditions, you made some of your own, and might already be passing them on to your next generation.

Last fall, we took some family pictures and a few extra individual shots of just the kids, with their parents.  Sometimes the best photos come when you least expect it, and everything from the light, the colors, facial expressions, background, etc, where everything turns out just right.  This just happens to be one of those moments, I think we all know as, a "Kodak moment"

Father and son playing guitar

I love this photograph of my brother-in-law and nephew, because I think it captures so perfectly, the bond that a father and son share.  You can see love being passed down, love being given up, and a father sharing his love of music (2 things that make the world go round in my book) with his son.  My nephew is young, but he "gets it".  This picture will be a priceless treasure for our family, and especially for my nephew, when he is digging through a shoebox and finds this Kodak moment that he and his father shared one day.
