Dear Phone,

Why are you mad at me? What did I do wrong? Did I not give you enough attention? You know you never leave my side … I constantly hold you in my hand (sometimes even when I am driving). You’re the first thing I look for in the morning and you go everywhere with me, on appointments, out to dinner, to concerts, everywhere. Even then, you are a part of whatever I am doing. Remember that beautiful fireworks display we shared? I held you up above the crowd so you could see and capture the moment, so we could relive it and show our friends. Oh yeah, remember that listing appointment we were on? When you showed the homeowner those great slides about the real estate market, and how you helped them understand their situation. Without you, I am sure they would have made a bad decision. Then, after the closing on their home, you captured the moment on video - how happy they were, and how they could not have done it without us!

I am always concerned about your condition; I keep you clean and make sure you never get lost or wet. I stroke you lovingly multiple times a day … and sometimes during the day I give you energy and a short rest. And when I have been forgetful and can’t find you, don’t I call you over and over until you answer and we are reunited? I know we haven’t been together that long, but how can I explain how much you have become a big part of my life … sometimes, even my husband gets jealous of how much time and attention I give to you.

So, please, tell me my friend … Why won’t you talk to me?? Why won’t you show me my emails??!! Why won’t you let me Google an important question???!!

Okay, let’s make a deal … I promise to you, my smart phone, to always take care of you … and from you, I need you to work!! Don’t make me trade you in for the newest model, cause that new 4G phone has been flirting with me, and you know I’m a sucker for the newest technology. Okay, Deal!

The holiday season is upon us once again. It seems as though it's 4th of July and you turn around and we are less than a week away from Thanksgiving. Things we planned on during, like putting your house on the market doesn't happen. Then you start to think, well maybe I should wait till spring. Well that might not be the best thing to do, and here are 11 great reasons why you should sell your home during the Holidays.

1. People who look for a home during the holidays are more serious buyers. If they are out there looking now, it means they are looking to buy now!

2. Serious buyers have fewer houses to choose from during the holidays and less competition means more money for you.

3. Since the supply of new listings dramatically increase in January, there will be less demand for your particular home. Less demand means less money for you.

4. Houses show better when decorated for the holiday.

5. Buyers are more emotional during the Holidays, so they are more likely to pay your price.

6. Buyers have more time to looked for a home during the holidays than during the regular weekends.

7. Some people must buy before the end of the year for tax purposes.

8. January is traditionally the month for employees to begin new jobs. Since fransferees cannot wait until spring to buy, you must be on the market now to capture the market.

9. You can still be on the market, but you have the option to restrict showing during the six or seven days of the Holidays.

How will our Industry change after tommorrow?

I know this is a thought many of us have. How will our industry change after the change of our President? How do you think a Democratic regime will change our business, or are people like Steve Harney from Keeping Current Matters and Dean Hartman from Continental Home Loans right, when they say it is up to us the agents. That we must educate our sellers to price there homes to sell today and to educate the buyers past their wait and see attitudes and buy today!

I believe we are somewhere in the middle. We must, as professional in the Real Estate Industry do our part, by education and promotion on what the opportunities for our clients really are at this time. We must be stronger on pricing and placing only marketable homes on the market, or walk away. Also, we must make our voices heard in the political arena to what is really needed to be done with the money the government is willing to put into the "fix of the mortgage debacle".
