neighborhoods: Localism: Is it a Good Thing? - 09/16/08 12:14 PM

A collegue recommended that I purchase neighborhoods in Localism.
I haven't become involved with Localism mostly because I haven't researched it as much as I should. 
Have you purchased neighborhoods?  Are you getting any benefit from it?  Why should I purchase a neighborhood? What are the Pros and Cons of Localism? These are only a few questions I have and would like to hear from you about the positive and negatives of investing in Localism.
I guess my next step will be to read a little deeper into the concept and evaluate whether or not I should spend the money.  … (7 comments)

neighborhoods: Fighting Neighborhood Crime - 08/06/08 09:49 AM

 
Dawn Maloney had a post on "Crime-Ridden Neighborhoods Ruin Rentals!"  and spoke of wanting to be part of the solution.  Today, in the Akron Beacon Journal, there is an article titled "Neighbors March, Vow to Fight Crime."  The link to the article is below:

 It makes interesting reading and exemplifies one neighborhood's attempt to fight crime in their area.
