I was doing some research on the housing markets in the larger cities of Arizona i.e. Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Tucson and came across a blog on John Wake's website regarding the average price per square foot.  It appears that average price per square foot is around $180.00.  Could someone verify this figure, reply with a better one, or direct me to where a can gather these figures?  I am also looking for land prices per acre within the capitol city or up to a 20 to 25 minute drive outside the city in any direction.  Furthermore, I found it interesting that the homes in Phoenix per the Case-Shiller price index have depreciated 31% from their peak value in 2006.  How is this affecting the price point for resales?  Has this market seen a spike in FSBO? Has that fact caused a run on new home construction presumably at a lower price (market corrected)?

Fortunately, our market in Augusta, GA is not strongly affected by changes in the economy or lending conditions. Our highs are not that high and our lows are not that low.  Our current slowdown is caused mainly by the perceived economic recession which is resulting in lots fence sitters.  However, we have seen some momentum building over the last couple of months.
