walker county: Learning North Lake Livingston - Part I - Bethy Creek - 01/14/11 11:26 PM
Homes Located on Bethy Creek at Lake Livingston The name Bethy Creek is deceiving. Often times, buyers will call and say, "I don't want to live on a creek. I want to live on the lake." THIS is a large body of water, not a small creek or cut. It is a protected cove off of the Trinity River and it is part of Lake Livingston. Neighborhoods that surround Bethy Creek are: Lake Livingston Heights Photo taken at subdivision boat launch located off of Palisade circle. Homes only neighborhood. No mobile homes allowed in the subdivision.
Stop by the Bethy Creek Resort and Camp Wake booths at the Houston International Boat Show going on now through January 16, 2011 at Reliant Center. Below is a short video of the Endless Ride Cable at the wake lake at Bethy Creek Resort in Riverside, Texas. Enjoy!
This is Pop (aka Thomas May). When I arrive at Ella Smither, Pop is almost always by the front door... reading the newspaper. Then, when I leave, he always tells me to "be careful out there... traffic's bad... not worried about you... it's those others." Pop was the life of the New Year's Eve party this afternoon! He blew his horn, popped his confetti and just seized the moment. That's one of the things that I love most about him. He just takes one day at a time and makes the best of whatever it gives him. Thanks, Pop! You're (18 comments)
walker county: Pay it Forward With a Little Color! - 11/14/10 12:38 AM
Today TPM (The Princess Mama) and I paid it forward with a little color at Ella Smither in Huntsville. After reading Cinnamon's blog, You Can Make a Difference, I was reminded that I have not been to see my girlfriends at Ella in too long. So... today we gathered up our little red bag and headed toward Huntsville. The first person to take me up on the offer to paint their nails was Ms. Copeland. She was so sweet. She asked me if I had ever had a wish come true. I told her that I sure had. Then she said, (11 comments)
Here we are at beautiful Cherokee State Park in Keys, Oklahoma. We have traveled here for the wedding of our niece, Rosemary Rushing. Today is my wonderful mother-in-law's birthday! Nothing like an Italian Cream Cheese Cake (ICCC) from Mayflower Bakery in Huntsville, Texas to celebrate a birthday! Look how beautifully they dolled the cake up with fall leaves and fabulous colors! Anyone that knows me well understands my love for ICCC from Mayflower Bakery. I have YET to have one that was better than theirs! Yes, EVEN homemade! I think that it is the icing that makes it soooo (12 comments)

walker county: Pregnancy Care Center - Huntsville: A Testimony Shared at Tonight's Benefit - 10/05/10 12:43 AM
Tonight we attended the Pregnancy Care Center dinner at Sam Houston State University. It is considered the center's largest fundraiser. I have never attended and can tell you that it was an eye opening event. They had the usual things; music (which was excellent), dinner (also excellent) , testimonies (lots) and a call for our help. Of all these wonderful things, let me tell you about the testimony that truly touched my heart. This beautiful, young girl came to the microphone and began to speak in a whisper. She told us her name and began to share her story. Her voice caught, tears came, (20 comments)

The president of the Walker County Lions Club called my husband, who is the president of the Riverside Area Lions Club and asked if we could help their club hand out water at 5K run in Huntsville today. walker county: Annual Fair on the Square - Downtown Huntsville - 10/01/10 07:14 PM
36th Annual Fair on the Square Downtown Huntsville, Texas Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 9 am to 5 pm I look forward to Fair on the Square every year! We have attended Fair on the Square since 1994 and can not express how much fun it is. There is live music, an antique car show, face painting and games for kids, a quilt show, and all kinds of wonderful food vendors. The first year that we attended Fair on the Square, we adopted a kitten from the Rita B. Huff Humane Society. Last year I left with the cutest toddler outfit that (6 comments)
Welcome to Carolina Cove on beautiful Lake Livingston. I lived in this wonderful community for 13 years and LOVED every minute of it. So why did we move? The house out grew us. Once we were "empty-nesters", we couldn't see the purpose of heating, cooling, maintaining and paying taxes on a home we didn't need. So... we sold "The Big House" and bought 2 acres directly on the Trinity River. This was only after we lost 2 other small houses to other buyers while we were getting ourselves emotionally ready to sell. EVERYONE wants to live in Carolina Cove. It (6 comments)
