Built in 2006 in Daytona Beach Shores, Oceans Grand is the last high-rise building in the Oceans complex. The city is now limiting the height to 120’, and, of course, they are proud with this far from wise decision. But who said that government is supposed to be wise?
There are 189 units in 21-story Oceans Grand (no 13th floor). It is a triangular building with rounded corners. Each corner is a three-bedroom unit. 3rd floor and up has 7 two-bedroom / 2 baths units plus den, and 3 corner Three Bedroom/three baths units. First and second floor has only 3 units each. Agent from one of so many now Exit Realty offices in the area called me a couple of weeks ago and said that she was looking at our listings, unit 1004 in Oceans Grand, and that she had a very picky buyer and she needed me to tell her whether the unit was direct oceanfront, or it was oceanview.
Well, the truth is that Oceans Grand Condominium is not an oceanfront building.

Very spacious condo unit with a den on the 10th floor in Oceans Grand. Gorgeous vistas of both the Intracoastal with its breathtaking sunsets, and Atlantic Ocean.
9' ceilings, double entry, granite countertops, AC units are separately accessed from the hallway, making it very quiet. Both bedrooms and the Living room have views of the intracoastal and the ocean.
Oceans Grand is surrounded by par 3 executive Golf Course. Racquet club is next to the building, and it is only 4-5- minute walk to the Ocean across Atlantic Ave.

Oceans Grand Condominium in Daytona Beach Shores
Built in 2005, Oceans Grand avoided fully or partially the fate of their later counterpart, like Marina Grande on the Halifax. Yes, it is a real estate bubble baby, but Oceans Grand skipped the biggest danger - units not being sold. Not only they have been able to sell all the units, they never discounted them, and, actually were selling with at least two increases after the initial price. And after that the units went on a still strong market and there were a few good resales, before the market tumbled down.

Daytona Beach Shores is a home to a condo row known as the Oceans. They started in the glorious 70s and at that time were quite a statement for a small quaint place on the Atlantic Ocean.
They go by the numbers: Oceans One, Oceans Two and so on, skipping Oceans Nine, and it ends in Oceans Ten. All by one developer, Bellemead. In addition to the Oceans from One to Ten, which are all direct oceanfront buildings, there are also two twelve-story buildings: Oceans Atrium and Oceans Atrium One, sitting between Oceans Three and Oceans Four.

Oceans Grand, 2 Oceans West Blvd, Daytona Beach Shores, FL 32118
This building was in the plans since early 70. At that time it was a double triangle 21-story tower. The developer of the Oceans complex sold the parcel to a construction company Callahan & Sons, and they decided to go with one tower concept. They did not build it, they only were the developer, and the General Contractor was Yates Construction Company headquartered in Atlanta, GA, which built quite a number of projects in Daytona Beach area.
