I have not been writing about Plaza Resort & Spa, a premier condo-hotel in Daytona Beach, for quite some time. It is time to revisit it and look at what is happening in the market.
Plaza Resort & Spa is one of the oldest condo-hotels (with only Hawaiian Inn being 4 years older), but it is one of the nicest resorts in the area, a higher end property and it is reflected in the overall ambience and in higher rates and higher occupancy.

We often see fluctuation in the market, and it is important to tell a trend from a fluke. I was surprised a couple of weeks ago to notice a few units popping up in The Plaza Resort and Spa, a premier condo-hotel in Daytona Beach, for very low price. It looked as if the second wave of those crazy deals was coming back.
We put 2 out of three those units under contract, and I was curious whether that was to continue. It did not. The prices are still getting higher in The Plaza, prompting some of my clients to start playing with the idea … (7 comments)

I have not visited Plaza Resort & Spa, a premier condo-hotel in Daytona Beach, for some time, and the changes are very noticeable. No, not with the building, not with their gorgeous lobby, not with the units...
It is the price. Today's price starts from $59K for a city view unit. Wow, this is back to about 2 years ago, before the avalanche of foreclosures and short sales have driven the priced quite low. The lowest price for a studio (and, by the way, with some ocean view) was $20,500 (we represented the buyer). Now a city view is for sale … (10 comments)

We have not visited the Plaza Resort & Spa for some time. So, what happened in the Plaza Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach since we visited it last?
Well, there are quite some changes. Plaza Resort & Spa is a condo-hotel, and it has the condoowners Association. There was an annual meeting of the Association. As I wrote before, this is the Developer's association. They do not run monthly meetings, and they, pretty much do what any hotel would do.

I was showing condo-hotel units in Daytona Beach in the Plaza Resort & Spa recently and my clients asked me:

I wrote about Plaza Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach. Premiere Condo-Hotel a few times before. You can't drive past it and not notice this magnificent historic building with a clock tower capping it's 14-story building.
Started more than 100 years ago (1888 to be exact), its fascinating history captures imagination. In 1998 the resort was bought by Charles Bray and Joseph Gillespie, underwent a massive and very expensive renovation, and became how we know it now.
After the renovation, developer decided to convert the property to condo-hotel in order to pay for the remodeling. They announced the sale in the fall of 2005 … (4 comments)

plaza resort spa: Got A Short Sale Approved In Plaza Resort in Daytona Beach. Need A Buyer ASAP - 06/09/09 01:27 PM
A buyer made an offer on a unit in Plaza Resort. Short sale, long wait. Suddenly another unit pops up, and she makes an offer on it. It is an REO(Foreclosure), so it moves fast. She now tries to sell her other condo-hotel studio in another property here to get the money to buy the first one, and the Short sale gets approved, and the Buyer can't buy. I can try to make a substitute as the Lender is ready.
