jordan mariano: Daylight Saving & Spring/Summer Season Stimulate PA Real Estate Market - 03/06/08 12:11 PM
Daylight Saving & Spring/Summer Season Stimulate PA Real Estate Market This coming weekend (Sunday 3/9/08) we spring forward an hour. REALTORS should celebrate!!! I consider the start of extended daylight to be a "REALTOR HOLIDAY" here in PA, but not necessarily a "REAL ESTATE HOLIDAY" for the general public. REALTORS may make most of their commission in 5 months (April-August). This does not necessarily mean its a better time to buy, or a better time to sell real estate, so: Buyers and Sellers should celebrate all year long!!!!! (my explanation is below the stats). Buyers AND Sellers start to come out of the woodwork when the days get longer & the

jordan mariano: Now - more than ever - your credit score matters. - 02/28/08 10:18 PM
Now - more than ever - your credit score matters. ________________________________________________ With the current "credit crunch", your credit score is more important now than it has ever been. You may know your score, but where do you rank? Here is some interesting information I found on www.myfico.com Up to 499 - 2% 500 - 549 - 5% 550 - 599 - 8% 600 - 649 - 12% 650 - 699 - 15% 700 - 749 - 18% 750 - 799 - 27% 800+ - 13% What was most shocking to me is that 40% of people have credit scores of 750+...That's a pleasant surprise. jordan mariano: ALL REAL ESTATE IS LOCAL! - 02/22/08 07:34 PM
ALL REAL ESTATE IS LOCAL! Despite what you're hearing about "Real Estate" and the "Housing Market", one market is drastically different from another. People often speak in national terms, or talk about struggling real estate spots, opposed to focusing locally. Another thing you usually don't hear (but is very true) is that every Real Estate market, whether depreciating, appreciating or staying steady, is good for SOMEBODY, whether its sellers, buyers, investors, first time home buyers, upgraders, downgraders, people selling & moving to another area, etc. Each market is usually good for more than one segment. Here are some statistics to explain the current situation in Montgomery County, PA (source: Trend MLS): 2006: Average Sale Price: $336,793 Units
