building a business: Six Pack Abs and Real Estate - 11/13/08 01:21 PM
Uncover what's always been there for you!! The secret to success in just about anything is that you need to have the I-am-going-to-do-it-no-matter-what attitude. This is usually fueled by a reason of WHY you want to get it done. Very easy to talk about it, but for some reason we just don't implement this. Most of us have heard of the law of attraction and the Secret or psycho cybernetics, etc. I had taken a few weeks off from the gym and decided this week I was going to go back. Good thing I'm young and follow a healthy diet, but I

building a business: Recession? What recession? - 09/21/08 12:06 PM
You Become What You Sorround Yourself With!! We recently hosted a real estate education seminar in Scottsdale AZ and I had an eye opener that I'd like to share with you. One of our speakers brought a bunch a newspapers from accross the country and started reading the headlines. "AIG Bailout", "Job Losses", "Merrill Lynch","Lehman Brothers" all negative and really depressing. This is what people are reading out there and it's no different on TV. I've been lucky to have built my business around a solid foundation with a predictable and measurable marketing campaign. I know that for every $1,000

building a business: Being Positive in a Negative Society - 09/15/08 07:55 PM
"I Want to Make Sure You Didn't Misunderstand me..... Because You're About to Miss Out On Something Huge...." I recently did a little experiment on my way of thinking. The results were extremely surprising and I want to share it with you. I woke up one day and I sat around thinking to myself "If the US economy collapses, are we going to die?"...... I mean look around, when the Fed started cutting rates back in 2007 we knew our cost of living was going to go up. Gas prices soared, $100 worth of groceries now costs 3 times as

building a business: How to succeed in today’s market (part 3 of 3) - 05/11/08 09:51 PM
All investments involve risk, but you don't have to be a risky investor Most people in America know absolutely nothing about investing, yet everyone is an investor in one way or another. We all invest our time, money, and energy in different ways. The poor and middle class people differ in their way of thinking from the wealthy and hopefully I can show you how wealthy people think and how you can do the same. There is a rule called 80/20 and it goes along with the concept I want you to understand and apply it. Leverage, leverage,

building a business: How to succeed in today’s market (part 2 of 3) - 05/08/08 10:41 PM
Generating Business Welcome back and congratulations on taking the next step towards being successful. One of the things that came to me as a big surprise early on my career was that clients were not going to come to me just because I was in Real Estate and knew a lot about it. IT JUST DOESN’T happen!!! (You can be good at writing contracts, selling homes, knowing neighborhoods, but if you have no one to sell to - YOU'LL STARVE!) I was at a point in my life in which my frustration was so high,

building a business: How to succeed in today’s market (part 1 of 3) - 05/06/08 07:45 PM
Building a business that works I want to start by clarifying that this is not real estate specific, but rather about business building. Then again, as real estate agents we must realize that we are in fact, small business owners. If you haven’t realized that by now, or want to boost your current business, then read on…… One of the things that led me to become a Real Estate Agent was an experience I went through in 2004. I was enlisted in the Navy serving on the USS Henry M Jackson. Two years into my enlistment contract, I got a
