Sounds like an amazing holiday weekend with what looks like something for everyone.  I hope the weather co-operates for this event.  I think I might just head down on Saturday for all the fun.

The "Lone Sailor Project" is over halfway funded and the casting has begun thanks to the support of the local community. It has been reported that all those donations under $100 are what has given the fund-raising project the boost to be able to boast over $210,000 in donations on the way to the $300,000 goal. It can never be easy when it comes to cities, governments, tribal treaties and area residents. "It" can be anything, but for the City of Bremerton right now the "It" is the Bremerton Boardwalk Project. I moved to the Bremerton area in 2002 because of changes the City of Bremerton was implementing. Specifically  The City of Bremerton Revitalization Projects that  were to begin.   In the last six years several projects have been completed and 2007 was the year of several "dedications".  The Norm Dicks Government Center and City Hall was opened in 2004.  The Kitsap County Housing Waterfront Condominium Project was complete in 2007 along with the Harborside Fountain Park project and the Bremerton Naval Museum with Fountain Viewing Room.  Just this past summer the completion of The Port of Bremerton Marina Expansion … (4 comments)

NY Hot Dogs with Attitude!
 
On my travels on the Boardwalk I came across what I could see as the only "on the Boardwalk" eatery. There are those that overlook the Boardwalk but only one that is "on" the Boardwalk. Uptown Mike's, NY Hot Dogs with Attitude! First I thought to myself, "Is there a Mike?" and "Is Mike from New York?" So the nosey person that I am I walked into the small little building. (Later I learned it was the old harbormaster's office on the boardwalk).

The City of Bremerton's web page is on my bookmark list.  I enjoy reading about the changes of this city that is growing and changing and becoming such a star on the map.  I hadn't been for a couple of weeks and there it was. A "City Cam". How exciting!! Until I see where it is and what it's for.  this Cam is installed on "Building 50" Which some will also know as "Bremerton Naval Museum".  This is a gorgeous building that was moved and revitalized - see my blog article "Bremerton Naval Museum"
