USDA to help thousands of rural homeowners in Pensacola, Pace and Gulf Breeze Florida  
The program, which was first announced Feb. 1, allows underwater homeowners in rural areas to refinance their homes with lower interest rates, similar to a program President Barack Obama announced earlier this month – although as Vilsack points out, the USDA’s program does not rely on the approval of Congress.About 20,000 underwater Fla. owners can refinance to a lower interest rate without red tape, appraisals or inspections. Jay Nixon laid claim to a chunk of the money to avert a huge budget cut for public colleges and universities. Chris has written a great post, but what the congress and the president for that matter are missing is the fact that all they have to do is let all the loans from 04 to 08 just reset to what ever prime was at the time the loans were taken out. The roughly 322 billion this would cost would be far less than what it has already cost, in fact less than half. Come on folks we are getting hosed by our elected officials and nothing will change till we change all them.
