baseball: Play Ball! Part one. - 04/03/12 04:09 PM
Play Ball! Part one. Every year the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants play their last 3 spring training games against each other. This has become known as the Bay Bridge Series. This year the first game was April 2,2012 at AT&T Park in San Francisco. I was there along with over 40,000 other fans, most of them wearing the orange and black of the Giants. My self I was wearing the green and gold of the A's. It was a cool and bit windy night for a baseball game. AT&T park has got to be one

baseball: The surest sign of spring? Not the blooms on the trees, or the sunshine, it's... - 03/30/12 06:37 PM
The surest sign of spring? Not the blooms on the trees, or the sunshine, it's... What do I think is the surest most absolute sign of spring? Could it be all the blooms on the millions of almond, peach, nectarine and other trees all over Stanislaus County? Could it be the last couple of days of sunshine and warm weather? Could it be that the calender says it's spring? No, No and No! The surest way I can tell it's spring here in Stanislaus County is BASEBALL! My favorite team the Oakland Athletics have already played two games that

baseball: Football is over - Now it's time for my Favorite Season - PLAY BALL! - 02/06/12 09:41 PM
Football is over - Now it's time for my Favorite Season - PLAY BALL! Now that football season is over it's time to start looking forward to my favorite season of the year. It's almost time for the "Boys of Summer" to head out to either Arizona or Florida for Spring Training. I'm talking about BASEBALL, my favorite time of the year. In less than two weeks pitchers and catchers will be reporting to spring training. That means that before too long I will be heading out to the ball park for some fun in the sun. This past weekend

baseball: Central Ca Short Sales - Spring Can't Be Too Far Away - 02/10/11 09:01 PM
Spring can't be too far away now. I just ordered my tickets to the opening Saturday game for the Oakland A's. The game is on Saturday night April 2nd. So while I am usually busy most weekends working on either showing or selling Central CA Short Sales that night I will be sitting down the third base line watching the A's take on the Seattle Mariners. While that OTHER team across the bay got all the publicity last year, and deservedly so, I am hoping for big things from the team in the East Bay this year. The pitching looks

baseball: Unique baseball promotion - 05/03/08 02:56 PM
The Oakland A's had a cool promotion on Thursday (May 1,2008) night. The game was in Anaheim against the California, Los Angles, So Cal, Disneyland, Angels of Anaheim. For every hit the A's got that night the ticket price for a select group of seats at Sundays game against the Rangers would drop one dollar. So what did the A's do? They proceeded to go out and rack up 20 hits. So those $24 dollar second deck tickets were now $4. With ticket prices that low I could probably afford a second beer at the game. So a few minutes after

baseball: Is Money Ruining Major League Baseball? - 04/23/08 02:23 PM
When I started thinking about this subject yesterday I was going to compare money in baseball to Steroids. You hear lots of people talking about how bad steroids have been for the game. You also hear people talking about the uneven playing field created by money. So the question is: Is Money Runing Major League Baseball? Here are some facts. The New York Yankees have the highest payroll in MLB again this year. The 2008 payroll for the Yankees is $209,081,577. The combined payroll of the 5 lowest teams is $217,250,006. The Yankees have 3 players making over $20,000,000 this season. Jason

baseball: Baseball the way it should be. - 02/21/08 11:24 AM
Baseball the way it should be. Every year at this time when the big boys are back at in Arizona and Florida I think about my baseball "career". I played little league baseball here in Turlock Ca. I definitely was not a super star (couldn't hit) but I loved to play the game. I had lots of fun and made lots of friends, some that I still see to this day. So if your son or daughter wants toplay baseball this spring and summer here in Turlock be sure to check out the Turlock Little League website for all
