real estate market: Real Estate in Wenatchee Washington - 07/01/11 04:18 PM
As you learn in real estate, markets are largely local! One region, state or city my be in the dumps and another may be rocking along. Buying or selling home is happening all over the country including Wenatchee and East Wenatchee Washington. The Wenatchee real estate market is really no different. We are close to Seattle and so, to a certain extent, what happens in the Seattle metro area eventually transfers to Wenatchee and Chelan or Douglas County real estate. But the inverse is also true. But even so we still have our unique housing market... different from everyone else. Many of the same national real

real estate market: Weather Report and Real Estate - equal parts voodoo, information and SWAG - 12/28/07 09:35 AM
About three weeks ago Gordie Romer, (a geat Windermere agent from Leavenworth...your welcome) and I plus a car full of assorted significant others, wives, kids and dogs set out on a Christmas tree hunt in the Wenatchee National Forest. Weather reports said some to 1" of snow. No big deal. What we actually got was 24 hours of one of the biggest storms lately, which effectively curtailed our hunt. Last night weather reports for our area were 6" of snow from 10am to 10Pm with another 6" in the next 24 hours and up to 20 more inches by Sunday... so this morning we

real estate market: Real Estate and Lending - 03/14/07 09:46 AM
Over the last few weeks there has been a lot of discussion about a shake out in the Mortgage Industry (ever notice when we start to refer to a business as an Industry there is almost an immediate downturn?). My friend Kevin Nelson recently wrote a couple blogs on this site about this subject and I challenged him a little... not about the point but about how broad of a brush is it really. Anyway, todays Seattle PI has an article that pretty well sums up what is going on. Mortgages will become harder to get because of underwriting and because

real estate market: Real Estate Tips - 03/05/07 09:39 AM
I frequently Blog over at my Wenatchee Real Estate Blog and today I was making a general entry about Wenatchee (aka River City) and the general market. I pointed out that I am a bit of a contrarian. That is when everyone, everyplace is talking about how good real estate in Wenatchee is (especially when I am getting a shoe shine in Seattle and the shine guy is telling me) then I think it is time for a little caution. Not saying watch out...yet. Just a little common sense. Anyway drop over to my other site and take a look. You will

real estate market: Wenatchee Real Estate Market - 01/20/07 09:31 AM
Last night was the annual meeting for the NCWAR. Our local association. Within the Windermere family there were several awards and Geordie Romer who blogs on this site was a nominee for agent of the year and yours truly too. Rather than cudos the point is this type of recognition is important as the agents that get it have earned a positive reputation and have put in a lot of hard work! (By the way the agent that actually got the award was Jamie Wallace also of Windermere). But I digress. A few years ago the realestate market in Wenatchee (aka
