If you frequently make the drive down Santa Monica Blvd through West Hollywood, you may have noticed recently some new eye candy along the way. No, I'm not talking about eye candy of the human variety. The city of West Hollywood has joined forces with the Museum Of Neon Art (who knew there was such a thing?) to present On Route - 66 Lights, which consists of 4 vintage neon signs along various spots on SMB. Last month I wrote about several major developments going up in and around West Hollywood. One thing I'd left out and meant to get back to but hadn't yet, was the House Of Blues site on Sunset Blvd. Well I may as well cover it now, as Curbed LA is reporting that the West Hollywood Planning Commission just gave it's approval for a massive new development by Kanner Architects that'll add 149 MORE hotel rooms, as well as 35,000 square feet of commercial/retail space including a new 6,200 square foot music venue. I'm so glad you asked! I'm going to tell you. For those who don't follow this type of stuff closely, a lot of this will be news to you. Others, not so much. It's not new news per se, but I find that the more people I tell about it, the less it actually seems to be known. So here we go.

I mean, really. When was the last time you could buy a cute, done house on your own little piece of land for $460,000? I'll answer that for you. In the past 5 years, you had exactly 1 chance, and THAT was a 727 sqft lot.

Just when I think I see the best deal I've ever seen on West Hollywood's desirable Kings Rd along the strip of condo buildings that run from Santa Monica to Melrose, another one pops up seemingly more unbelievable than the last. A brand new listing just hit the MLS yesterday at 740 Kings Rd that is probably the least expensive 1 bedroom I've seen on Kings Rd. since I got into real estate 5+ years ago. The unit is a 3rd floor unit with a balcony and is 664 square feet.
Price? $289,900

It's been a while since I've blogged, and now I'm going to try to get back into it, in conjuction with my new Twitter account (follow me at twitter.com/jphendrick). I hate that I'm at the age where I feel a bit overwhelmed by technology. No worries...I'll figure it all out.
