simi valley home: FROM SIMI VALLEY TO WESTWOOD - 02/08/13 08:13 AM
Today was the day I left early early from Simi Valley to Westwood to see the eye doctor. My good friend takes the ride with me and we chat and enjoy the drive and checking out nature.
As I leave my Wood Ranch townhome, I look forward to seeing my friends at Starbucks and a quick hello. I scurry to get going to get my friend.
Bette lives in a Simi Valley home on the east end of town. I pick her up and we trek down the freeway.
Today it was very foggy and we both enjoy seeing how the … (0 comments)

simi valley home: UNIQUE FRUSTRATIONS! - 02/04/13 10:14 AM
Call them minor, and they are. But when we allow minuscule and mundane things to get in our way and we allow them to annoy us...well, all I can say in retrospect is: WHY!? I turn off the thermostat in my Wood ranch town home when I go to bed...this morning, I knew I looked at it and saw 61 degrees...I am positive of that. I didn't turn it up as I sometimes do before getting ready for my day... When I went into the Great Room about an hour later, guess what! I glanced at the thermostat and it was … (0 comments)

simi valley home: ALWAYS A SATISFIED CUSTOMER! - 01/31/13 08:34 AM
We closed escrow on August 30, 2012. The house was owned by a family who lived out of state and had it as a rental for several years. It needed lots of work and updating to today's standards, and they were done!
It's a gorgeous Simi Valley home south of Ventura Boulevard. I had it on the market for 60 days and a family called to view the property. They didn't know I knew but I was aware they fell in love with the potential of this home as soon as they walked around inside.
It came time to write an … (0 comments)

simi valley home: AFTER SIMI VALLEY HOME CLOSES ESCROW - 01/21/13 04:45 PM
...what's next??? For this realtor conducting business in Simi Valley, continued service, requesting referrals...and most importantly, friendship is what it's all about. The line drawn during escrow meant service was number one. We always want our clients and customers to believe we are friends. However, we also want them to think of us for referrals to assist in Wood Ranch luxury homes or other Simi Valley properties. Sometimes it's difficult to refer friends. I see my "past" clients who have become friends on a regular basis when I "pop by" to say hi and they know that visit is business. When … (0 comments)

simi valley home: Be a True Dodger Baseball Fan! - 08/28/12 12:07 PM
With baseball season coming to an end, I am sure most of you have watched your team play from your Simi Valley Home or Wood Ranch town home.  My assistant, Allyson, has been a long time, die hard Dodger fan and she explained how she has been such a die hard fan for so long.  A few things she "practices", if you will...
1.  Have the schedule posted on your calendar at work, in your car, on your phone and in your Simi Valley condo.  Anywhere you may be at any given time.2.  On any game day, away or home, where … (0 comments)

simi valley home: The Hills are Alive... - 05/16/12 01:46 PM
No, not with the sound of music, but green everywhere. Which is pleasant to see in and around Simi Valley homes!
We don't get much rain here, but enough I guess to have the hills in and behind Wood Ranch luxury homes and town homes to be beautifully emerald green.
It was Mother's Day on Sunday and it was nice to feel a slight breeze atop the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library hill approaching the library. Sunshine and cool temps but pretty enough to enjoy some wine and appetizers with several friends. Celebrated the day with family then it was off to … (0 comments)

simi valley home: Lockbox on While Out of Town? - 03/20/12 10:05 AM
I have clients who came to me through my website, searching for Wood Ranch homes to purchase. I met with them and immediately was able to build the trust and rapport. Not only did we have the same religious beliefs (they brought it up!) but we all are from the East. There is a certain comradery with people from my part of the country. It's always an immediate bond-type of relationship.
Anyway, I learned their property in a nearby city was listed with a realtor with whom the Mrs. is not quite happy. No real reason, I don't believe, except she … (6 comments)

simi valley home: TIME TO PARTY! - 12/23/11 05:39 PM
Last week we had a fabulous Wine Tasting Holiday get-together in Los Olivos and guess what we did...yep, you got it...we tasted some of the finest wines in the region. Over 30 of us took the day off from showing Simi Valley properties and were chauffeured in a Party Bus with lots of snacks, drinks, Mimosas and Bloody Marys!  Plus, we had some fine comradery with our fellow associates.
You might be thinking, "Why is Jo Ann writing a Blog on wine tasting"? Let me tell you in short... you need to know that Jo Ann is a real human, sometimes taking time … (4 comments)

simi valley home: Really??? A Sellers' Market? - 12/19/11 06:33 PM
Okay, so we all have stories about first-time home buyers, and I'm no different. Mary and John came to me with their wish list for a Simi Valley property and their desire to "steal' something. This should give you a clue, especially those of you reading this who are also first-time home buyers...
Here is the best information I can give you... it is no longer a buyers' market! Yes, that's right. Simi Valley town homes, Wood Ranch luxury homes and properties anywhere in Conejo Valley, are not being sold at bargain prices. They are being sold with multiple offers and frequently … (8 comments)

simi valley home: Reflecting on the Holidays and Those in Need... - 12/08/11 11:51 AM

Hi Friends,
As we reflect this year on all the blessings we have, I am thankful and appreciative that you are part of my life, whether we have conducted Simi Valley real estate business or not.
Too many do not have too little this year and don't even have the luxury of living in a Simi Valley town home or any Simi Valley property at all. Their challenges are far beyond ours. I like to donate frequently throughout the year to Care and Share, our local food bank (they are accepting donations at this address). I know you will understand … (0 comments)

simi valley home: Words Of Wisdom From C.A.R. Executive Vice President - 12/05/11 06:10 PM
I attended a meeting Friday morning where Joel Singer, the California Association of Realtors Executive Vice President and Chief Economist spoke and these are very important words he said:
'There is right now an incredible buying opportunity and investors comprise 32% of the California market. Smart money is going into real estate..." Mr. Singer also believes that "rates will be the same for 2012 and will rise in two to three years."
A chart he shared with us contained these words:
Forget stocks. Don't Bet on Gold.
After four years of plunging home prices, the most attractive asset class in American … (4 comments)

Are you drowning with your Simi Valley home?  Having to short sell a home can be a traumatic experience and I won’t sugarcoat it; it can be an extremely difficult time.  A Simi Valley short sale can be one of the best options available to you when your home is close to becoming a Simi Valley foreclosure  – but what do you do now to get it sold?
Let’s face it.  You need a professional that has extensive experience in selling Simi Valley and Wood Ranch short sale homes.  Someone that can ease your burden and has the resources to make sure your … (0 comments)

simi valley home: Something a Bit Different - 11/21/11 05:24 PM
Yesterday in Simi Valley it rained pretty much all day.  I had scheduled myself to work from my Wood Ranch home...but frankly, I also wanted to enjoy some football.I love the sport. I started my day at 8:00 a.m. answering emails, blogging, searching the MLS for clients wanting to relocoate and purchase Simi Valley real estate and later moved on to watching a few football games.

As I watched commercials (didn't always fast forward), I enjoyed most of them...they are always good ones on Sunday football days.  It has just hit me as I watched the same commercial for probably the tenth time today … (0 comments)

simi valley home: Reflections - 11/16/11 02:25 PM
Last Friday was Veteran’s Day.  Many people stopped for a moment to show gratitude to a veteran they knew, speak to an associate whose loved one sacrificed their life, or visited the local Veteran Memorial located near a group of Simi Valley homes in the wonderful park by our Civic Center.

I spent the better part of the day with my grandchildren, A.J. - 10, and Kyra, who is almost 7.  We visited the Veteran’s Memorial in our town.  You may wonder how these two topics blend together.  Let me explain.

When I knew they were out of school on 11-11-11, it … (0 comments)

simi valley home: What Makes A Smooth Transaction? Read Below! - 11/09/11 07:08 PM
I believe, as Realtors in Simi Valley and Wood Ranch real estate, we have one characteristic that must always be at the forefront of our daily transaction; our reputation.  How we conduct ourselves when selling homes to Simi Valley relocation people, Wood Ranch short sales or any Simi Valley property translates into quality professionalism maintained at its highest level of service, integrity and ethics.
An excellent example of how reputation plays into our day-to-day business is a transaction I've been working on, a Wood Ranch home that will close escrow next week.  It's been a smooth process from the beginning.  I credit … (2 comments)

simi valley home: Doing the Real Estate Boogie - 11/07/11 11:09 AM
Walking out of my nail appointment last week and seeing 15-20 women sitting at the local Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Shop took me by surprise.  Two of the ladies caught my eye and we seemed to connect and we chatted for just a minute.  The group had just come from the Rancho Park and Recreation District Community Center Jazzercise class and meet after the class for coffee and comradery.  The two ladies invited me to join them this week and told me it didn't matter how I danced or looked, nobody cared.. and I decided upon awakening this morning, by goodness, I was … (2 comments)
