This trip for me is a journey, one that comes once a year.
Thanks to my Broker/Owner/President who awards me this respite from the daily trials of real estate. Laying on the beach watching the waves on a Sunday... simple picture but great meaning... how about infinity, and strength, not to mention relaxation and timelessness.
Yes, I get philosophical and the Hawaii shoreline makes me more so.
Watching the waves is so calming and peaceful. I guess that's why people come here. But why not so in Southern California, near our Simi Valley homes and Wood Ranch luxury homes?

Mmmmm, I am a lover of beef ribs and a few nights ago I decided to enjoy some at my
favorite Simi Valley restaurant, Red's BBQ and Grillery. Located at the far
side of Central shopping, restaurants and Simi Valley homes, Red's food is

Red's and I go back a long time as my daughter managed there several years ago

My last post talked about traveling from my Wood Ranch town home to Los Olivos with my lady friends to wine taste at Stolpman's Tasting Room. We had a nice lunch and now we're going to the tasting room for the "tastes."
We met up with Carrie from Stoplman's and she seated us on the front patio under a gorgeous oak tree. I learned a short time ago that the first taste of wine should be with the top of the tongue as that is where the most sensitive taste buds are located...did you know that?

I admit, I don't cook much anymore; my version of cooking in my Wood Ranch town home is to bake a couple of pieces of chicken, freeze them, microwave them at a later time, throw a baked potato in the microwave, tear up some lettuce and VOILA! An easy dinner.
I bake very little anymore...except....
Once a month I bake dozens of cookies for my vendor referrals who live in Simi Valley properties. I decided four years ago to thank them for their referrals with a dozen cookies every now and then. You should see the assembly line...

I attended dance class last weekend and a couple of the parents asked me about the market. It is amazing to me that so many people are unaware of the turn in the market. A month or so ago it turned to a sellers' market!
The parents and I chatted... very little for the buyers to choose... few Simi Valley homes to show. What homes there are, whether Simi Valley town homes or Wood Ranch luxury homes... if they are priced right. There are multiple offers and many of them are all cash on these Simi Valley properties.

I realized over the weekend how truly small the world is.
I was at Costco with A.J. and Kyra, the loves of my life (my grandchildren). A lady was at the seafood counter buying lots of King crab legs. As I like people and will always find a way to open a conversation, I asked if she was buying enough for me for dinner!!! The lady was as friendly as I and said there was. As I sit here watching my precious granddaughter, Kyra, in her dance class, I notice nearby Simi East Valley properties that also house her friends in the class. I akin her dancing to the dance of real estate, a dance that we all get caught up doing.
I love watching Kyra. A child of seven puts a smile on her face and tiptoes and looks as graceful as can be. She loves dancing and tells me she wants to dance on stage. I'll assist in her quest wherever I can!!!

Simi Valley short sales are out there in large numbers and are selling with multiple offers.Fact: All properly priced properties have multiple offers. That is the reality. We need Simi Valley and Wood Ranch houses in our inventory. Wood Ranch home prices are holding their own. Same with Simi Valley houses.

Now, I have to start at the beginning.
A year ago, there was no group. It simply was a local pamphlet circulated around our area and picked up by residents of Simi Valley homes and it was called "Simply Girl Talk." I loved the publication, found a lot of helpful tips and quotes and facts that one would never have known if the publishers hadn't brought to my attention. Like "Did You Know...the lifespan of a tastebud is ten days?" Or recipes, inspirational thoughts and health tips. I advertised for about a year.

The Office Manager visited the latest new construction in Simi Valley -- and remember the economy recently? There haven't been new homes built in a very long time -- Anyway, she mentioned something to me about the new homes going up on a large parcel of land. They're cooperating with brokers and the Office Manager encouraged us to walk through the homes. If we don't (and she's right) our buyers will and we'll be left without the opportunity to help.
So I stopped late last week and enjoyed talking with the Sales Associate and previewed the three floor plans.

The National Association of Realtors, economists around the country and other professionals are stating that 2012 is going to be the turnaround year for real estate. Not that the prices are going to skyrocket or interest rates will go lower... just that it's finally time for the market to slowly start to rebound.
We here in Ventura County have seen that. Simi Valley properties are few and far between. When there are so many buyers out there and virtually no inventory, that means multiple offers and prices have to do something... they won't go up in any drastic way, but the prices … (5 comments)

Last week we had a fabulous Wine Tasting Holiday get-together in Los Olivos and guess what we did...yep, you got it...we tasted some of the finest wines in the region. Over 30 of us took the day off from showing Simi Valley properties and were chauffeured in a Party Bus with lots of snacks, drinks, Mimosas and Bloody Marys! Plus, we had some fine comradery with our fellow associates.

Last Friday was Veteran’s Day. Many people stopped for a moment to show gratitude to a veteran they knew, speak to an associate whose loved one sacrificed their life, or visited the local Veteran Memorial located near a group of Simi Valley homes in the wonderful park by our Civic Center.
