Wordless Wednesday: Wild Horses in The Snow - 12/29/10 06:18 AM
Here in Carova, NC one of the big past times is taking pictures of the Corolla Wild Horses. They are very photogenic, and how often to you get to see wild horses roaming the beach. This week, however, we got an extra special treat. We got a snow fall that actually accumulated and stayed on the ground giving us a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the horses in a new perspective. This picture was taken from a member of one of the local forums.
Although my first 6 months with my Motorola Droid X has been a rocky "Love Hate" relationship at times, I do have to admit that all the different apps available for customizing the phone are Great! Downloading little free games are fun, but this is a work phone so my top three picks are all apps that help me in my business. We already revealed my Number Three and Number Two choices, so let's go on to the winner. Number Two PhoneMyPC
PhoneMyPC is un app that I discovered very recently. I haven't done too much with it (6 comments)

One of the first groups of apps there I tried out were browsers. As a Realtor web access is very important these days, and I really liked the look and feel (1 comments)
I have always made the stand that I am a resident FIRST and a Realtor second. The last thing that I want to see happen is for Carova to become a 4-wheel drive Whalehead. at the same time we have A LOT of undeveloped, privately owned lots, and I believe every lot owner has the right to build on their own land with in the limits of the law. What we need to do is to continue working on getting more lots turned into conservancy easements or donate them to the Wild Horse Fund. You could probably get more on the tax right off than you could on (0 comments)

Carova property owners who can't sell may have other options - 12/10/10 09:48 AM
This is of special interest to land owners in the 4-wheel drive beaches of Carova, NC. If you are paying taxes and/or mortgage payments on property that is perhaps unbuildable, in protected wetlands, or for other reasons of little use or burdensome to you, you may be interested in placing your land in a conservation easement. The tax benefits of conservation easements are currently good and as you see below, might be increased, with your help. Please read the below section on conservtion easements.
The number of sales happening in 2010 is still out pacing 2009. Could this be the first sign of recovery? This is proving to be a great year for real estate sales in Carova, NC. Here is a list what what has sold this past month. If you want want to see what have sold for the entire year you can go to my website at http://CarovaSolds.4x4RE.com
We don't get much snow here in Carova, NC, but we still try to keep the Holiday Spirit alive as best we can. Even our neighborhood recycling center, affectionately called "The Dump" does what they can to celebrate. If you are planning on spending the holidays over here, make sure to stop by and say hi to the hard working employees. (2 comments)
For one stop shopping to get the information on what is happening on the Outer Banks, the place to go to is OuterBanksBreakingNews.com. This site has very little in the way of bells and whistles. It is a simple little feed site with broken down by both Categories (i.e. Boating & Fissing, and Real Estate) and by Locations (i.e. Carova & Corolla, and Southern Shores). They give you an up to the minute column being feed through Twitter, as well as a more in depth column fed through their FaceBook fan Page. They are now even offering local coupons, and are offering local revues via Yelp. So whether you are a regular down here and want to see (0 comments)
Help the Corolla Wild Horses while doing your Holiday Shopping - 12/01/10 08:43 AM

This is a questions that comes up a bit when I meet buyers who are unfamiliar with this part of the Outer Banks. The costs are going to vary greatly from house to house. They partially determined by the house itself (age & quality of construction), where it is (lot location), and from how it is being used (rental or second home). Your expense categories will typically include:
Mortgage payment - down payment, interest rate, and term of loan will affect this cost
All about what life is like living in Carova; the only place I know on the East Coast where you can live at the beach, away from commercialization, and among wild horses.
Author Bio: Jean-Paul Peron Has been selling Real Estate full-time since 2004 and has been licensed in Delaware, Maryland, and North Carolina. J-P now resides on the northern most section of the Outer Banks called Carova where he focuses all of his time in helping clients & neighbors.
