In anticipation of the Mid-Currituck Bridge becoming a reality very soon, the town of Corolla,  NC and Currituck County have started a Small Area Planning Process for Histiric Corolla Village just North of Currituck Heritage Park.  All the meeting materials and survey results from the October 26th Public Outreach Meeting are now available on the County website at http://www.co.currituck.nc.us/corolla-small-area-planning.cfm.  Minutes from the meeting will be available on the website tomorrow morning.

Mark your calendars! So you thought that with the end of summer came the end for reasons to visit the Currituck Outer Banks, guess again. There are many events that go on through the year. Currituck Heritage Park continues to have it Wednesday wine festivals throughout September from 3:00 - 7:00, and when that is done we have Heritage Day in Corolla on October 3rd. This event is more geared for the residents & homeowners, but of course all are welcome to come & enjoy the festivities.

Join in the fun. Currituck Heritage Park will be having their first triathlon. The "Pedal-Foot-Paddle" starts with a 7-mile scenic cycle through Corolla, NC followed by a 3-mile run on the beach at low-tide, wrapping up with a 2-mile kayak paddle on the Currituck Sound. For the more leisurely-minded enjoy the fun walk, "Light to Land" - climb the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, then stroll through the park ending at the front porch of the historic Whalehead Club. Contestants may participate individually or as a team. Entry fee includes registration reception on Tuesday evening, and award celebration - including best costume - on race day.
