Yet another reason to move to Massachusetts...
If you are considering relocating, Massachusetts is a great place to consider. Last month was the seventh in a row where Massachusetts saw job gains, adding about 64,000 since December. The state is well below the national average when it comes to the unemployment rate.
Here are some quick facts:

The state’s median weekly wage has grown by about 7.5 percent since 2007, the report said, drawing on data prepared by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. The national average is 2.3 percent.

The state’s median weekly wage is $900 compared with a national average of about $700.
- More than 40 percent of the state’s work force has a four-year college degree or more education. The national average is just greater than 20 percent.
- Boston-Cambridge-Quincy is 17th in the nation in terms of the percentage of its work force that has attained at least a high school diploma. Worcester is 21st overall. Springfield ranked 64th in the nation, though.
- In terms of jobs for people with a bachelor’s degree, Springfield comes out pretty well: 36th in the nation. That was close to metropolitan Boston at 27th. But that was way behind Worcester at third in the country!
- The state's largest gains last month came in the leisure and hospitality sector, which added 2,800 jobs. Professional, scientific and business services added 2,700 positions, while construction gained 1,600 jobs.
