One of the biggest challenges I face in all my relationships can be summed up in one word "communication" or the lack thereof. I was raised as many men are, to suck it up don't show your feelings, never let them see you sweat. I am masterful at this, so my family says. My brother in law Dan Gallagher began bruising all over a few weeks ago, as if he had been in the "Octagon" participating in an ultimate fighting match. After visiting a specialist at the City of Hope in Duarte California he was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia a rare blood disorder.

I don't know about you but I remember a few years back saying to myself. My kids have such an entitlement attitude when did this all happen? They have no idea how lucky they are living here in the SCV. I began sounding like every other parent as I shot back at the snotty new teens who had kidnapped my kids in the back seat. As a Parent we are called upon to lead our children along in life, to guide them, protect them, and to provide life sustaining nourishment.

I was on line the other day watching Rick Warren speaking and he shared a thought that resonated in me. He asked those in attendance how do you spell love? Is this a trick question? Conventional wisdom and every academia would simply state that's simple L-O-V-E. But Rick spelled it differently he spelled it T-I-M-E. I was baptized today and I wanted to share my experience with the world. I was reading the "Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren and I read about the importance of Baptism and what this event symbolized. I was called to do this. I remember going to church at Valencia Hills Community Church that weekend and I made a mental note to ask the pastor after the service when the next baptism would occur. Imagine being born with no arms and no legs! Many of us, would probably curse God, give up, or have no reason for living. I was introduced to Nick at our church service at Valencia Hills Community Church in Valencia, California. Our pastor "Mike" played this video clip of Nick Vujicic during the service.
