Governor Schwarzenegger proclaimed a State of Emergency in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura due to more than eleven major wildfires.
I watched as the fixed winged planes hovered within feet of tree tops battling cross winds, fire and smoke yet they kept dropping strategic water drops on the fire with pinpoint accuracy. Their skill and efforts limited the loss to just one home in the area of Agua Dulce hundreds of homes were threatened. Although the last quarter of 2006 had the largest number of homes sold totaling (147) There has been a notable drop in sales activity since the second quarter of 2005 which totaled (198). The average sales price in Stevenson Ranch also dropped slightly. However sales prices have shown signs of weakness as of late as we leave the peak home sales period. The last few quarters have seen a more stable pattern of activity.
The upper end Market has not been notably impacted in terms of sales prices. There are presently homes selling for slightly less than the previous year but no significant decreases. … (0 comments)

I like most parents tonight in Santa Clarita attended our school's "Back to School" night at Stevenson Ranch Elementary. This night provides parents a small snaphot of what lies ahead in terms of their children's education and who will be educating them and how. I wanted to take this opportunity to spotlight a couple of new changes this year to our school, namely our new principal and assistant principal. Meet our new Principal Candace Fleece who replaced Mrs Von Buelow this school year.

I would like to thank Swett & Crawford of Los Angeles for their donation to decorate the plaque in honor of Jake Karedjian a fallen Deputy here in Stevenson Ranch.
The Downed Officer Support Ride is an annual event which was held yesterday to raise funds and to honor fallen Officers and firefighters who have lost their lives protecting our communities. One of the stops along the route is Jake Karedjians memorial park in Stevenson Ranch.
The support from Swett and Crawford provided the means to decorate his memorial in honor of this local hero. (see photos)

I met Steve Shull today at our Keller Williams VIP properties monthly award and sales meeting in Stevenson Ranch California. For those of you who do not know who Steve Shull is, he was a linebacker for the Miami Dolphins from 1980-1983. Retiring thereafter due to a knee injury. He played 41 career games as a Miami Dolphin, played under legendary coach John Shula and played in Super Bowl XVII. Nice resume!!
Aside from Steve's Football Career which is admirable in itself, one thing I admire about Steve is he gets to make a living helping others make a better living!

I will never forget that August morning 2001 in Stevenson Ranch California as I drove to work I noticed a number of patrol cars on Brooks Cir as I turned on to Poe Parkway. I was thinking to myself, should I turn back and stay with my family?, but it appeared all was under control and I thought they (law enforcement) were serving a warrant on one of the houses on Brooks possibly for some minor offense. I had no idea of the tragedy that was about to unfold in the next few minutes as I drove down the street towards my office.

My oldest child attends Rancho Pico Jr high in Stevenson Ranch, California. Sure I attended all of the open houses and other similar activities, but I missed out on all of those after school adventures "traveling with Mr Johnson" which I could have attended had I planned things better. These are missed opportunities to spend "Quality" time with my child doing something I absolutely love. That is exploring, and in addition to that, exploring with a teacher who shares the love of the outdoors and it's history. Something I have all but abandoned in my "Pursuit of happiness"

This one stretch of real estate is perhaps one of the most potentially dangerous routes in the "Ranch" Stevenson Ranch, California. You wouldn't dare cross there without your "guardian angel" Everyday I drive my kids to school drop them off at a designated spot with total "piece of mind" as I watch a pair of "guardian angels" appear. They walk my kids as well as everyone else' kids in the "Ranch" across the street all in one piece.
No, I haven't forgotten to take my medication, in fact I don't take any medication at all. Some think I should, but that's another story for another day. I'm talking about Connie Trevor and Preben Poulson our "guardian angels"

Stevenson Ranch Elementary
One of the reasons we have such a great school system here in the (SCV) Santa Clarita Valley is partly due to the parent involvement in our schools. Today is living proof of this, there was no shortage of dad's attending the father's day celebration today.
I am speaking on behalf of all the dads who attended today when I share that we all had a great time!. Thank you, Mrs Wilson and those who helped in putting it all together.
