Well, just over 1/2 a year is over.  I've really been putting on my thinking cap with my partner on how we can expand our operations and move our business forward.
Just yesterday,  I hired someone to help us to make calls and to close deals that we are working on.  Today and next week I am going to concentrate on getting an admin person to help me.
I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to go about it yet, hire interns, va's, or someone who actually comes to my office?

Unclaimed Money: Nevada law changes - 06/23/11 09:39 AM
A new bill called SB 136 that deals with Unclaimed Property Law in Nevada recently passed on June 16, 2011.
What makes this bill important?  One of the most important factors is the dormancy period of funds that are to be held. For the following types of property, the dormancy period is going to be changed from 3 years to 2 years.  This significantly shortens the time that these funds are held by companies and turned over to the state.

On Friday, June 17, 2011, Rick Perry, the Governor of Texas signed HB 257 into law. This law makes changes to the dormancy period for specific banking products and utility deposits changing the landscape on how these products are reported and handled. The Dormancy Timeline: Dormancy is the period of time that an agency or state holds or handles what is classified as an unclaimed or abandoned product. 1) The dormancy period for checking/savings accounts and matured CDs has been reduced from five years to three years.  2) The dormancy period for money orders has been reduced from seven years to three years.

In the county of Hancock in Ohio, there awaits over $7 million dollars in what is known as unclaimed funds waiting to be claimed by residents and former residents.
Today, The Ohio Department of Commerce publishes its annual list of the newest unclaimed funds in the main paper called The Courier.There are over 1188 different unclaimed fund accounts worth more than $$617,260. In West Virginia a woman passed away sometime last year that was well loved by her family.  She loved to make quilts and had a penchant for making great fudge.
Other than that, the family thought that she left this world penniless.
What she didn't know was that she had a CD that was forgotten about because the bank that she originally took out the CD from had been sold twice and the account numbers had been changed.

Sacramento, California has a current debt of $39 million dollars,  They (the city) has been looking for a way in which to balance this rising budget and one way for them to do this is to take that which does not belong to them.
What do I mean when I say this?  Easy.  For numerous years money has been adding up in the city's coffers and has just been sitting there.  "How much?" Millions.

Missouri seems to have a state treasurer that is really trying to get money the state has back in the hands of those it belongs to.
Treasurer Clint Zweifel has been very busy with his staff in locating individuals and businesses that have money owed to them that they are not aware of.
Recently, the treasurer has returned $1.4 million dollars to one of the state's largest employers.  I'd like to give you their name, but I don't have it and the state is not releasing it "for security purposes".

I'm not sure if reaching 150,000 points on Active Rain is a milestone or not, however, with this post, that's where I am at.
I find being on Active Rain beneficial and tends to lend additional credibility to what you do.  I have also been able to "meet" some great people that are on this site.
I have been using it to keep my name and company "out there" so that when someone looks me up, they are able to find me.
I am proud to have made this achievement and I look forward to many more milestones along the way.
