My dad worked for the U.S. Forest Service at a time when conservation wasn't the hot topic that it is today so it was right up my alley to become an Ecobroker. One of the concepts that was new to me, or at least, new in terms of language was "daylighting."
Obvious economic savings from house designs that use natural lighting include less use of electricity. Less apparent is how good you feel and how that might impact your productivity. My (7 comments)

The suggestions for right living couldn't be simpler. Founded on the spiritual knowledge of men and women in southern Mexico known as the Toltecs, these scientists and artists thousands of years ago, explored and conserved ancient wisdom. Naguals (masters) and students came together at Teotihuacan, the pyramids outside Mexiclo City, a.k.a. the place where "Man Becomes Gods. The First Agreement: BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD. Tell me something good - Engaged Leadership - Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - Matt Fetick Real Estate Team - Keller Williams Realty - PA & DE - 02/25/09 04:37 PM
A conference is only as good as the good ideas you take away and put to use. One of the best is "Tell me something good." rather than asking people "How are you doing?" I've started doing it and it works. Clint Swindall, President and Ceo of Verbalocity, Inc. was one of the keynote speakers at the recent KW Family Reunion gathering of reatlors across the country. He's author of ENGAGED LEADERSHIP: Building a Culture to Overcome Employee Disengagement. It's all about personal accountabilty Asking colleagues, friends and family to tell you something good, creates awareness and focus on what is positive - it (5 comments)

Real Mothers - Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - Matt Fetick Real Estate Team, Keller Williams - PA & DE - 02/22/09 03:39 PM
FROM MY FRIEND ALICE O'BRIEN, what do you think mothers?Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids. Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of carpets. Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up. Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?' and get their answer when a little voice says, 'Because I love you best.'Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade... Dear Diary, my passion is... - 02/22/09 03:03 PM
Treasuring the ordinary, being present right this very minute, what else is there? The sun. A smile. A tear. The wind. So many passions have filled my life-their names include my children, family and friends. Ordinary moments...the excitement of telling stories both as listener and teller through theater, literature, music and dance. Some history, the past. Perhaps more tomorrow, still a mystery. All with a confident knowing I am exactly where I am meant to be. What could kindle more passion than exploring feelings and ideas ? I've learned its hard to stay down while walking rapidly, or feel sorry for yourself if (5 comments)

You're never too old for Valentine's Day trivia - Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - MATT FETICK REAL ESTATE - Keller Williams - 02/13/09 12:11 PM
Growing up in the Midwest, I remember the Buster Brown shoe store and making Valentine's Day cards by hand from red and pink construction paper and paper doilies. It was a grand thing, what with cupcakes decorated with conversations hearts. Today's research led me to vinegar valentines, a custom of paper insults given on February 14 and even memorialized in the Calvin and Hobbs Cartoon series. Calvin often gives Susie vinegar valentines to cloak his true affections. These caricatures such as the one here from Wikipedia can be sent to spinsters, floozies, dudes and scholars, Hmmm!--

Keystone Financial reports that rates declined; but the mortgage market is still being stubborn. What has been your experience with affirmations? Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - MATT FETICK REAL ESTATE - Keller Williams - PA & DE - 02/09/09 06:32 AM
I admit it. I woke up this morning feeling less than steller, insecure. And one of my daily readings is about the power of affirmations, How the he words we speak and think hold great sway over the kind of life that we create for ourselves. Many people including moi, can live their lives plagued by negative thoughts and never even realize this. Affirmations are statements chosen and spoken consciously. Once they enter our realm of consciousness, they also enter our subconscious mind where they have the power to change our lives. I would love to hear testimony avbout the power (22 comments)
What's your favorite real estate web site? Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - MATT FETICK REAL ESTATE TEAM - Keller Williams - PA & DE - 02/07/09 07:18 PM
Let's dust if off one year later, what's your favorite real estate site, or what sites are you recommending to clients and friends? We all know that realtor. com, the official site of the National Association of Realtors, has the most inventory but is not the most up to date. Trulia and Zillow list recently sold properties along with graphs showing how that house compares with similar homes. It also gives you the year built, square footage and sales history. Problem wtih these sites can be accuracy so consumer beware. Personally, I don't know anyone who's bought a home on (2 comments)

KENNETT AREA YMCA A TRUE COMMUNITY RESOURCE - Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - Matt Fetick Real Estate Team, Keller Williams & PA & DE - 02/07/09 05:52 PM
The Kennett Area YMCA is my home away from home. I've been a volunteer there nearly 10 years and have taught myrad kinds of classes, for the last 4 years, it's been yoga. There is such a positive"can do" attitude there and truly customer service consistently always ranks very high in member surveys. The facilities, located at 101 Race Street in Kennett are some of the nicest in the countyr - towel service and babysitting are free with a memberhisp! And memberhip is on a sliding scale. It's such a wonderful community resources. There's an indoor pook, sauna and steam room. The (0 comments)
Redecorating on a budget - Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - MATT FETICK REAL ESTATE TEAM - Keller Williams PA & DE - firstname.lastname@example.org - 02/04/09 07:33 AM
The most inexpensive way to redecorate is move your furniture around. If you're getting ready to list your house, you might even remove some furniture to allow more space for buyers and friends to roam around. But, for fun and a new look, try using lamps from one room in another, or a small scatter rug change up. I like to hold on to stuff, too, because months or years from now, you can pull it out and WOW! there it is a new look AGAIN Color of course is key, at least for me - it can affect your mood. Pillows, pieces of fabric, quilts or (3 comments)
