HISTORY OF THE APRON...jroosevelt@kw.com, Janice Roosevelt, Keller Williams - Brandywine Valley - PA & DE - 10/30/09 05:53 AM
I don't think our kids know what an apron is. The  use of Grandma's apron was to protect her dress underneath, because she only had a few, it was easier to wash aprons than dresses. And they used less material, but along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven. It was good  for drying children's tears, and even used for cleaning out dirty ears. From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched eggs to be finished in the warming oven. When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding … (50 comments)

Our office email had an interesting thread today.

In these situations, here are some of the things that people are doing to get the winning offer:
Having the house pre-inspected so they go in without an inspection contingency Crossing out the financing contingency Crossing out the … (5 comments)

Looks like the Senate will renew the First time Homebuyers Tax Credit until at least April of 2010.The credit would allow buyers (even if the property is not closed) a home by April 30, 2010 to participate and receive the full credit available.
The credit will be continued (but reduced by 2% each 90 days) through the end of 2010.  The credit will be slightly lessened, but it will be renewed . In addition, there is the possibility that it could be renewed at that time, as well.

Pre-listing home inspections good for SELLERS and BUYERS, jroosevelt@kw.com, Janice Roosevelt, Keller Williams - Brandywine Valley, PA & DE - 10/27/09 08:51 AM
At MFRET we believe in the value of a pre-list home inspection. We are committed to helping our sellers get a good one for a minimal amount . For the seller, a pre-list inspection can remove buyer objections from the start. During the inspection contingency phase of the sale, buyers will over estimate the cost of a repair. Much less expensive for the seller to take care of it prior to putting it on the markting. And The seller can price the house accordingly. For the buyer, it can be helpful to have a copy of the inspection report. It’s a … (2 comments)

Committment...is it a four-letter word? jroosevelt@kw.com - 10/21/09 01:58 PM
