Inexpensive Staging Tip - just PAINT!!! Janice Roosevelt, Licensed in PA & DE, APR, ePRO, Ecobroker - 02/29/12 02:15 PM
Staging your listing does not have to be expensive. One great way to appeal to buyers is by painting the rooms with current, updated colors that buyers love. The key is keeping it neutral with warm colors (not white white!). Choose from a wide array of neutral colors. My favorites are Antique White (SW6119), Wool Skein (SW6148) and Softer Tan (SW6141).Some additional tips: The selected paint color will look darker on the wall than the sample Room with bright southern exposure can handle darker shades Try using a flat finish so any wall imperfections are not as visible. SPICE, is an Indian Thai Bistro in Newtown Square that has been voted best all round Indian kitchen by the Philadelphia Inquirer and that accolade is well deserved. Thanks Susan Manners for suggesting this incredible eatery this weekend! The owners also have another SPICE in downtown West Chester Not one to linger long over menus, I was stumped; what a list of offerings from clay oven specialties to biryani to amazing soups and salads. Good thing there is a weekday lunch buffet if you can't wait to come back and try another dish. With offerings from Thai traditions as well as Indian, (4 comments)
George Clooney, the odds-on favorite to win the Oscars tonight, delivers a deeply-satisfying and understated performance as Matt King, husband, father, lawyer and landowner of one of Hawaii’s last remaining open space

Thank you all for your friendly "chain" emails :) Janice Roosevelt, Realtor, Licensed in DE &PA - 02/25/12 12:04 PM
As we progress through the year, I want to thank you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery.I can no longer open a bathroom door without using a paper towel, nor let the waitress put lemon slices in my ice water without worrying about the bacteria on the lemon peel.I can't sit down on a hotel bedspread because I can only imagine what has happened on it since it was last washed.I have trouble shaking hands with someone who has been driving because the number one pastime while (4 comments)
Hi! I'm coming over to set off your alarm and let the cat out! - 02/17/12 10:28 AM
Realtor and author Pat Kennett offers some great advice to sellers in her wonderfully humorous style. Sellers do need a but of education unless they've been out lookng at houses with their realtor. Some of the "instructions" for showing come from bad experiences. I remember once seller who accused an agent and/or her client(s) of sleeping on her bed. Turns out it was her daughter and the seller didn't know she'd been home :) Via Patricia Kennedy (Evers & Company Realtors): Sometimes I'm amazed at how many MRIS comments use so many words telling us, not about the house we are about to (0 comments)
Snow shovel tips - Janice Roosevelt, Realtor, ABR, ePR, Ecobroker, Licensed in PA & DE - 02/17/12 10:08 AM
Not to “wish” an end to this mild winter we are having in and around Philadelphia and northern Delaware, but something inside me led me to buy a big bag of de-icer this week . It got me to thinking about snow shoveling. My driveway seems to be the worst in my development so it takes Superwoman effort to get it done. These tips may be more for me, but thought you might find them helpful Best snow shovel purchase tips · Steel shovels last longer but are heavier than high-strength plastic one so if you are looking for more (1 comments)
The Story of St. Valentine - Janice Roosevelt, Licensed in PA & DE, ABR, ePro, Ecobroker - 02/13/12 04:25 PM
The beautiful holiday that celebrates the gift of love on February 14, originated in 270 A.D with an amazing man named Valentine. The humble Christian Valentinus lived under the oppressive rule of Roman Emperor Claudius II. Claudis had ordered all Romans to worship state idols, and ordered death to those who even associated with Christians. Undeterred, Valentinus stayed steadfast to the ideals of Christ. One day a jailer for the Emperor of Rome brought his blind daughter to Valentinus for healing. She had been blind since birth and the father had learned of Valentinus's medical and spiritual healing abilities. Knowing the girl's condition would be difficult to (16 comments)

Helping others - Come from a place of strength - Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABr, ePRO - Licensed in PA & DE - 02/12/12 07:49 AM
A recent daily message I receive has me thinking about "helping others." It's certainly what we do in real estate, helping people buy and sell homes, investment properties, and vacation real estate. In this shifted market, sellers have had to come to the realization that prices just are what they were or hope. There's a process in accepting that and it's been one of the new skills realtors have developed, at least those still in the business. The skill of working as a trusted advisor in this capacity. When you feeling discomfort from seeing other people in needy situation - like they (1 comments)
The Power of Imagination - 02/07/12 11:24 AM
Lou Ludwigs daily motivational messages are always so powerful. Its often serendipitous when I read them. Today's quote from the former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela on imagination is no different. I try to "imagine" him sitting in a jail cell for so many years- creating positive visions for when he would be released. Via Lou Ludwig CRB, CRS, CIPS, GRI, SRES, TRC, e-PRO, (Ludwig & Associates):

Janice Roosevelt, Realtor, comes "home" to SUSAN MANNERS'TEAM, Prudential Fox & Roach - 02/07/12 10:42 AM
With great enthusiasm, I have "come home" to the Susan Manners Team, affiliated with Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors, Chadds Ford, PA . It's where I got my start more than a decade ago and Susan was my mentor. I was blessed to have a great year in 2011, when many realtors dropped out of the business, and closed a record number of transactions. The move to Pensylvania and Delaware's top-ranked real estate team - where emphasis is placed on caring, quality real estate service and business is generated primarily through referrals from satisfied clients took me by surprise. Big Miracle - rescue adventure with Drew Barrymore - great family move! Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePro, Licensed in pA & DE - 02/04/12 10:52 PM
Directed by Ken Kwapis , Big Miracle, a rescue adventure involving a family of three gigantic gray whales trapped in quickly freezing ice the near the small Alaskan town, Barrow warms the cockles of your heart. It also made me grateful I don’t live anywhere near the Arctic Circle and we’ve had a mild winter. Based on a true story that mesmerized the world, eventually, it brings together a Green Peace Activist sweetheart (Drew Barrymore) and a small town news reporter (John Krasinski), as well as the a major oil company, Coast Guard, White House, the former Soviet Union’s Navy, (7 comments)
