A  recent daily message I receive has me thinking about "helping others." It's certainly what we do in real estate, helping people buy and sell homes, investment properties, and vacation real estate.
In this shifted market, sellers have had to come to the realization that prices just are what they were or hope. There's a process in accepting that and it's been one of the new skills realtors have developed, at least those still in the business. The skill of working as a trusted advisor in this capacity.

Deciding who to list your home with, the average seller may interview several realtors. Normally the seller feels they have a good sense of what their home should sell for, and generally it's higher than the comps. Rarely have I interviewed a seller who thinks their house is worth less than what the last home sold for in their neighborhood.
Imagine the surprise of the sellers when the first two realtors tell them that their house will sell for LESS than they thought. They present information on what comparable homes have sold for, where other actives are priced, and the trend … (4 comments)
