A nearby Chadds Ford neighbor, Brent Schweitzer, was the subject of a newspaper article because of his loves of the holiday season. He has a Christmas display with some 5,000 lights, 65 blowmolds, 12 inflatable snowmen and Santas and thousands and thousands of feet of electrical cord. And the lights are synched to music. The display is up through the first week in January and his address is 4 Joshua Way across from the Chadds Ford Elementary School. Sweitzer loves people to drive by and enjoy the magical display. Neighbors Kendal or Colin have done a tremendous job getting it up and, eh, barking? The Bark Park is purely due to volunteers and donations.
There are now 2 dog litter bag dispensers and there is a nice Bark Park Entrance sign that was installed this afternoon.
Brandywine Veterinary Hospital donated the sign which now shows the Bark Park rules to help facilitate a safe, clean and fun area for our dogs.

Pennsylvania's Pennsbury Chadds-Ford Antique Mall on Route 1 is not just popular with tourists, but locals as well. If I have a pair of earrings that needs fixing, I know which booth to go to, and of course, I am lured in by the many and varied dealers whose inventory changes constantly.
There is plenty of Andrew , Andy, and N.C. Wyeth material but so are there fossils, minerals and gems, high-style and shabby chic furniture and accessories, vintage clothing, estate jewelry, maps, rare coins and cllectibles, scientific instruments itmes Asian, Art Nouveau, and even Disney.

One of the things I like about Mushrooms Cafe on Route 1/Baltimore Pike (Hickory Hill Rd) is that it is so close - it's a fun stop if you are out antiquing, stopping by the Chadds Ford Winery or visiting the world renown Brandywine River Museum, home to generations of artists or Longwood Gardens.
Look for the "mushrooms" sign next to the Brandywine River Antiques Market, this is a place for some local flavor and great expresso. Right now the speciality is mushroom soup and if you know anything about our area, you know that everyone has a recipe for it.

Hillingham I, is a small older townhome community in the Kennett Consolidated school system, just off Route 52 behind a landscaping business. It overlooks a pond with a walking trail and couldn't be nicer. Especially because it is so convenient via Route 52 to Wilmington or via Route 1 to Philadlephia, West Chester and Media. It's very close to Kennett Square.
