The 51st annual Brandywine Festival of the Arts (BFA), featuring 275 artists, craftspeople, photographers, and jewelers, as well as expanded food offerings, is set for Saturday and Sunday, September 10th and 11th on the banks of the Brandywine River in Wilmington, DE.
Sunshine Artist, the largest magazine/website covering the arts and crafts field, calls the BFA one of the largest outdoor art shows on the east coast. Exhibitors from 15 states will participate in this peer-juried show.

Delaware Gov. Jack Markell, Sen. Tom Carper and other dignitaries for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the newly renovated Queen Theater in Wilmington, De. After standing vacant for 50 years, the former movie house is now a music venue called World Cafe Live at the Queen.
It has 50,000 square feet of space and includes restaurants, lounges, two live music venues, banquet facilities and studio space for regional public radio station WXPN.
Musicians who perform during the venue's opening month included Sonny Landreth, Ingrid Michaelson, Aimee Mann and Toad the Wet Sprocket.

If you are buying a home in Delaware, one of the expenses to include is transfer tax. In general it is 3%, customarily split evenly between the buyer and seller. The State receives 1 and 1/2 percent and most Delaware counties and /or municipalities are collecting 1 and 1/2 percent.
If you are buying in New Castle County, the northern most county in the state, you oculd be expent fro .75% of the county transfer tax - if you are a first time home buyer (FTHB)

I was just out with a buyer today in the Mt Airy and Roxborough areas today, and there are some great opportunities. Chester, Delaware and New Castle counties also offer a great selection of home for first time-home buyers.
