South of St. Maries, where Highway 3 forks, I went to the right. I got lost and never did find my destination. I think I was close. My destination was an off-grid property that a fellow would like me to sell for him. I got lost and there was no cell reception. Janna Rankin Scharf, GRI, CLHMS, SFR, AB - Coeur d'Alene Idaho Homes for Sale This pretty autumn day I had an opportunity to head south of town along the eastern side of Coeur d'Alene Lake along the Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway. (I'm not sure why sometimes it's Coeur d'Alene Lake and others it's Lake Coeur d'Alene...) I came across this barn. It was pretty as a picture so I decided to take one of it. This classic red barn isn't particularly historical, but it does appear to be saying hello to all who pass by. To me, it seems to be saying, "Hello! Welcome, come on in!" This beautiful barn is located at a pretty-as-a-picture ranch on Lacey in Hayden, Idaho. I have to say it's the largest barn I have ever seen, and my photos don't do it justice. This barn is close to my house so I pass it frequently in my travels. It is such a wonderful slice of Americana, seemingly calling out a cheerful hello to me each time I pass by!

Janna Rankin Scharf, GRI, CLHMS, SFR - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho Homes for Sale I was taking a drive south on a beautiful fall day along spectacular Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway when I spotted this idyllic barn scene. The location of this scene is somewhere along Hwy 3 as I headed north on my return trip to I-90 from St. Maries. Fortunately, my camera was nearby so I was able to capture the lovely visual to share it with you!

I have always loved it for the story it seems to be telling. I was in the right place at the right time with my camera to capture the image when the light was just right.
