How Cool Is That or...How Active Rain Can Really Work - 05/26/08 09:01 PM
I joined Active Rain for two basic reasons: 1) Networking 2) Learning
I have only been here since March. In the time I have been here I have done more than learn. I have been submerged in information relating to just about every aspect of real estate that exists. And along

My Secret Hobby -- The MLS - 05/20/08 12:08 PM
I love reading through MLS listings. Not only do I get a feel for the area inventory and pricing I get a pretty good laugh out of this practice. Here are some of this week's favorite MLS property descriptions.
•1. $2500 flooring allowance, $5000 landscaping allowance, seller will look at any

100th Anniversary of Mother's Day - 05/10/08 11:08 PM
I've probably been living under a rock or something. Until today I didn't realize this Mother's Day was the 100th Anniversary of the first Mother's Day. A celebration dedicated to one mom at a small church in West Virginia in 1908 is now recognized globally.

The Pressure is on... What will I say now? - 05/10/08 04:41 PM
I innocently made a post the other day about a conversation I had with a friend who also happens to be a Realtor. You Can't have It Both Ways
If I had known then that somehow the post would get that elusive gold star status I might have been more prepared.

You can't have it both ways - 05/09/08 02:36 PM
I almost threw the phone out my car window... I placed a call the other day. It was a social call to another agent. We are friends and I hadn't talked to her in a while. So we're chatting it up and as always our conversation turned to business. Now this agent

Sure I'll help you out... and expect nothing in return - 05/07/08 04:11 PM
I do many things as a professional real estate agent for which I am never compensated. And you know what, I am not complaining. I love talking real estate. (Actually, I love talking and real estate just happens to a subject everybody is interested in right now.) That being said, I can't count

So I was posting this picture... - 05/06/08 10:00 PM
It isn't really noticeable in my Historic Downtown Eustis Post but as I was posting this picture my laptop almost met its demise. It would seem Peddler's Wagon was under attack. Luckily I did not notice this lovely creature while I was taking the photo or I would have regretted not getting that

Historic Downtown Eustis - 05/06/08 09:58 PM
Downtown Eustis is experiencing a revitalization, a rebirth if you will. In 2003, Waterman Hospital left its downtown location to new state of the art facilities on HWY 441. The building which housed the hospital and formerly the Waterman Hotel was demolished. The Lake Eustis Foundation was established to develop the property. The vision the foundation

No Two Dcuks are Exactly the Same - 05/06/08 07:53 PM
How many of you read that title and muttered something negative about my proofreading? (It's okay, I would have done the same thing.) Without further ado, I would like to introduce you to DCUKS. Dcuks are from England. They are handcarved from renewable bamboo root. Each one is a unique character with its

Lake County, Florida...In Bloom - 05/06/08 07:34 PM
I fell in love with the magnolia several years ago. I don't remember the title of the book I was reading but it was set in New Orleans. The author described the fragrance to such a degree I could actually smell the blossoms in the pages of that book. From that time

Singing and Dancing in the Rain, With Some Difficulty - 05/01/08 10:57 AM
I have to say I am having a great time with Active Rain. I took some time off for a few days so I could organize myself. I also slipped a short girl's weekend to St. Augustine in to refresh my batteries. (Sorry, no pictures this time. To coin the phrase,
