century 21: Happy Holidays Home Buyers! Average Mortgage Interest Rates Drop to Lowest Levels Ever!

Today, 12/22/2011, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.91%, down from 3.94% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.21%, unchanged from 3.21% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.81%.
This week home buyers got an early Christmas present as the interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages fell to new low levels that we have never seen before in our times. century 21: Freddie Mac Survey says Average Mortgage Interest Rate is Back Below 4%!

Today, 12/08/2011, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.99%, down from 4.00% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.27%, down from 3.30% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.61%.
Freddie Mac reported that the median sales price of homes had declined 4.7% since October 2010 and that the average mortgage interest rates had also declined, by about 0.62%. Many buyers are taking advantage of these circumstances to snap up bargains as "housing affordability" indicators rise to record levels in 2011. However, in our local market … (0 comments)

century 21: "Toys for Tots" Donations to be Picked-Up by Postal Workers on December 3, 2011

I was just notified that on Saturday, December 3, 2011, our mail delivery persons will be collecting Toys for Tots to add the United States Marine Corps Reserve's efforts here. I suspect that they are also doing this in other parts of the country. Call your local post offices to confirm that.
Here in Pasco County, we are being asked to leave NEW, UNWRAPPED TOYS by our mailboxes on Saturday, December 3rd. You local deliveryperson will take these donations back to the post office where they will be transferred to the Corps.

This annual event in Dade City, Florida is always a crowd pleaser. Most of the residents of brick-paved Church Street decorate their homes and lawns for the holiday season. You will see enchanting houses, lots of luminaries, carolers and choral groups singing, and even hot chocolate. The weather is pleasantly cool in December here and the stroll will be very enjoyable.
Each evening from the 21st to the 23rd the stroll down Church Street will begin at 6:00 PM and end at 9:00 PM.
Come out with your family and enjoy this once-a-year celebration in Dade City!

century 21: Back Mortgage Interest Rates Go, Again Below 4% - Historic Low!

Freddie Mac released their weekly report a day early this week due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. So, today, 11/23/2011, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.98%, down from 4.00% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.30%, down from 3.31% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.40%.
Interest rates are at all-time lows. Adjustable rate mortgage rates are also at historically low levels. Due to the affordability of homes being within the reach of so many buyers, this resulted in a 1.4% increase in … (0 comments)

I was once listing a property and checked on its 55+ status at the state's Florida Commision of Human Relations website. I saw that their designation as a 55+ park was due to expire in just a few weeks! I spoke with the park's secretary, and she was unaware of this fact! This often happens as new board members get voted in. It is easy to overlook deadlines and I am told that Florida does not send out warnings that your registration is about to expire. Seems like just yesterday that I was posting information about this event for Christmas 2010! How time does fly! But when we have events like this to anticipate, perhaps time moving faster is not such a bad thing.
This year the Florida Hospital in Zephyrhills will hold its Tree Lighting and Decorating Ceremony on Sunday, December 4th from Noon to 6:30 PM at the hospital on US 301 on the north side of the city. The hospital is just across the highway from the Spanish Trails Village mobile home subdivision. You can't miss it.

The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.30%, down from last 3.31% week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.17%. Nice to be below the 4% point once again. Hope some of you can take advantage of the low rates we have this week.

As they usually do each year, the residents of Colony Hill Community in Zephyrhills, Florida will be offering bi-weekly Pancake Breakfasts to people who live in the area or who are wintering here. Colony Hills is located on Lanier Road, just south of the State Road 54 Intersection. It is very easy to find and just a few minutes west of the city center.
The first one that they told me about will be on this Saturday, November 12, 2011 and then run more-or-less every other weekend, with breaks for Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.

Today, 11/3/2011, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 4.10%, down from 4.10% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.31%, down from last 3.38% week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.24%. Nice drop this week. Wonder if they rate will again go below the 4% mark this year. We will have to wait and see.

Time is flying by, and it is again time for us to adjust our clocks backwards 1 hour since Daylight Saving Time will end on Sunday, November 6, 2011 for much of the United States. So before you go to bed on Saturday the 5th, turn your clocks, watches, car clocks, VCRs, DVRs, etc back an hour. Most of your smart phones, computers, and cable boxes will do it by themselves via a signal from your providers or a program within the device that keeps track of time changes.
