Today, 10/4/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.36% down from 3.40% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 2.69%, down from 2.73 last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.94%. These interest rates for mortgages that we have NEVER seen before in our country. Can you imagine how nice it would be to lock in that rate for the next 30 years? On Tuesday, October 2, 2012, Zephyrhills, Florida will take part in the National Night Out 2012. It is co-sponsored by the Zephyrhills Police Department and Main Street Zephyrhills. Theme is: Crime and Safety Awareness of Youth! This will take place in the downtown area of the city on 5th Avenue. It will begin at 6:00 PM and go on until 9:00 PM. There will be games, food and live entertainment. Something for the entire family. Our nights are getting cooler now and this is a perfect way to enjoy it. century 21: Average Mortgage Interest Rates Now at 3.4% says Freddie Mac! - 09/27/12 03:41 PM
Today, 9/27/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.40% down from 3.49% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 2.73%, down from 2.77 last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.01%. Not long ago the Federal Reserve said it was going to buy up mortgage-backed securities. And true to their word, they did. This caused the desired effect of making interest rates fall. That should help supplement an improving housing market in the United States. Buyers AND sellers both benefit when mortgage rates are low. Here are some (0 comments)

Today, 9/6/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.55% unchanged from last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 2.85%, down slightly from 2.86 last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.09%. For a second week, there was very little change in average mortgage interest rates. Today, the Federal Reservie reported that it would keep interest rates low for the forseeable future and would be buying back "mortgage-backed" securities also known as Quantitavie Easing in an effort to further stimulate the economy. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 2.86%, unchanged from 2.86% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.12%. This week, there was very little change in average mortgage interest rates. From what I have heard on the network news shows, tomorrow positive employment figures are supposed to come out. As many Florida residents know, here many of the major insurance companies have turned "yellow" and no longer write new policies in our state. There are several that still do and we are thankful to have these great companies on hand here. But when it comes to older mobile homes, often the only option people have is Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. An entity that the state set up so that the real estate industry here would not be harmed due to the fact that many homes were uninsurable. Today, 8/30/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.59%, down from last week when it was 3.66%. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 2.86%, down from 2.89% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.22%. Finally after several weeks of gradual increases, interest rates headed south for Labor Day. As of today, 8/27/2012, Hurricane Isaac well out into the Gulf of Mexico. And as you can see by the map, it is projected to make landfall near New Orleans. As if they need to get hit with another major storm! But of course, here in Zephyrhills and the Tampa Bay area of Florida, we will be very happy to see this storm pass us by. As of today, 8/26/2012, Tropical Storm Isaac is just over Key West and the Florida keys and its projected path has shifted more to the northwest and appears to be heading for the New Orleans area of the northern Gulf of Mexico. They certainly don't need to be hit with a major storm, but of course, here in Zephyrhills and the Tampa Bay area of Florida, we will be very happy to see this storm pass us by. As of today, 8/24/2012, Tropical Storm Isaac is over Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Its projected path has it moving in a northwesterly direction over Cuba and then turning toward Florida with landfall predicted for early next week. If you look at the map you will notice that if it follows its projected path it will be level with Tampa in the early afternoon of Monday and it has an "H" in it to indicate that it will then likely be classified as a hurricane, not a tropical storm! Today, 8/23/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.66%, up from last week when it was 3.62%. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 2.89%, up from 2.88% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.22%. Hard to believe, but for a fourth straight week interest rates for home loans have increased. They are still well below the 4% mark, but each jump brings them a little closer. If you think that rates have hit their lowest point, you may want to start looking for that home to buy (0 comments)

As of today, 8/22/2012, Tropical Storm Isaac is over the eastern Caribbean Sea. Its projected path has it moving in a northwesterly direction over Cuba and then turning toward Florida with landfall predicted for early next week. That is a long way off in the life of a hurricane, so anything is possible. But this storm bears watching. Keep yourselves up-to-date via the internet, TV, and radio. CENTURY 21 corporate has just released their rankings for July 2012, and I am in the TOP 100 CENTURY 21 agents for the the North and Central regions of the state of Florida. We are still not out of the woods concerning the housing slump and to be in the TOP 100 is a tribute to my hard work. At least that is what my clients tell me. Having a good presence on the internet with many sites and also videos of my homes does not hurt either.
