CENTURY 21's national offices have just released the rankings for the number of sales during the 1st quarter of 2012. This time around I am in the Top 30 of all of the agents working for CENTURY 21 in North and Central Florida. And trust me, there are a lot of agents out there working. The ranking was based on the number of "sides" sold. So basically, the number of housing units sold during that period.

john elwell: New Record Lows for Average Mortgage Interest Rates says Freddie Mac - 05/10/12 06:58 PM
Yesterday, 5/10/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.83%, down from 3.84% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.05%, down from 3.07% from last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.63%.
Not since 1951 have rates been this low! Since early December 2011 the average interest rate for 30 fixed-rate mortgages has been below 4% for all but 1 week.

For the first 3 months of 2012, CENTURY 21 Corporate has reported that I am amongst the Top 40 agents in northern and central Florida based on the number of "sides sold" in transactions. We certainly had a better year in 2011 than we had had since the start of the recession. Many retirees looking for vacation or retirements homes, and many local buyers who wanted to take advantage of the low prices and VERY low mortgage interest rates. As a consequence, my sales improved. Not to the levels we had back in the mid 2000's, but we are getting there. And we are hearing more and more good news about our economy and that bodes well for 2012!

Today, 2/16/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.87%, unchanged from last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.16%,unchanged from last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 5.00%! This is the third week in a row that rates have been this stable!
A Freddie Mac spokesperson said, "Fixed mortgage rates were unchanged this week amid mixed confidence measures. Small business confidence ticked up slightly in January, representing a fourth consecutive month gain, according to the National Federation of Independent Business index. Today, 2/9/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.87%, unchanged from last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.16%, up slightly from 3.14% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 5.05%!
Strong employment figures in January 2012 tended to push up many mortgage interest rates, However, the 30 year fixed-rate average interest was unchanged from last week and remains at historically low levels for a second week.

This great furnished 3 bedroom/2 bath double-wide mobile home is located in the Zephyr Ridge subdivision that is situated within the city limits of Zephyrhills, Florida. This is NOT a rental subdivision. You own the lot the home is on. There are also no HOA fees here! Pets are very welcome here and there are fewer restrictions than in many other subdivisions. Today, 12/29/2011, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.95%, up from 3.91% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.24%, up from 3.21% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.86%!
Though interest rates did increase this week, they are still below 4% and that makes homeownership much more within the grasp of many home buyers. Imagine locking in that low rate for the next 30 years! I am betting that in just a few years we will look back at these rates and shake our heads … (0 comments)
