mobile homes: Interest Rates for 30 Year Fixed-Rate Mortgages Reach New Record Lows - 01/19/12 04:59 PM
Today, 1/19/2012, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.88%, down from 3.89% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.17%, up from 3.16% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.74%!
Even though the drop was minimal and the average rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages inched upward, the fact that the rates have stayed below 4% for so long is good for buyers who want to keep short-term and long-term costs down, and also for sellers who want motivated buyers.

mobile homes: Little Change in Average Mortgage Interest Rates This Week: Freddie Mac - 11/17/11 02:21 PM
Today, 11/17/2011, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 4.00%, up from 3.99% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.31%, up from last 3.30% week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.39%. The change was hardly worth mentioning, especially for loan with lives of 15 to 30 years.
Freddie Mac said: "Mortgage rates were little changed this week just as the economy is showing potential for further gains in the near term. Retail sales rose for the fifth straight month in October and beat the market consensus forecast. Meanwhile, … (0 comments)

If you have been watching the news over this past weekend, many inches of snow have fallen along the northeast coast of the United States. Our kids have not yet gone "trick or treating" and yet there is snow on the ground. I remember hearing about "frost on the pumpkins", but this is ridiculous. Here is a picture that one of my FaceBook friends, Bill Quackenbush, took of his corner of New York State. Beautiful, to be sure. But cold and slippery.

In the past two weeks I assisted in the sales of both of these great homes on Amanda Street in Betmar Acres, just to the west of Zephyrhills, Florida. The transactions went smoothly since I was able to take care of several "issues" that popped up concerning an appraisal and a missing building permit. The buyers and sellers were grateful that I had the knowledge and experience to get these problems worked out.

Today, 9/2/10, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 4.32% (4.36% in the southeast), down from 4.36% a week ago. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.83%, down from 3.86% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 5.08%. These rates are incredible. I am surprised that buyers are not taking advantage of them. Over the years they will save lucky homeowners tens of thousands of dollars. I am often asked about mobile homes that are for sale in my area. At times the potential buyers do not realize that the home is in a rental park and not in one where you also own the land under the home. This sometimes happens when they tell me they saw a mobile home for sale for only $25,000 that was beautiful and large.
