Ahhhh, FIESTA in San Antonio, TX -- there's nothing like it! Live here for a few years, and you can't help but get caught up in the fun and the history of FIESTA.
I'm a member of The Woman's Club of San Antonio -- which is a Charter Member of the San Antonio FIESTA Commission. Our Club hosts several FIESTA Events every year. Today, Monday, April 21, 2008, The San Antonio Woman's Club hosted their Annual Fiesta Hat Contest, Luncheon & Style Show. It was held at the RiverCenter Marriott located in downtown San Antonio.
I arrived around 9:30 at the Woman's Club to await the shuttle van to take me and other members from our beautiful Clubhouse to the Hotel.
Since I arrived early, I was able to help with some last minute details - like placing the Silent Auction items on the tables. Once that was finished, guests and members were arriving and I was able to take some photos of some of … (36 comments)

FIESTA'S Annual Taste of New Orleans sponsored by the San Antonio Zulu Association at the Sunken Gardens in Brackenridge Park kicks off the 3-day event on Friday. This Family Friendly event will be featuring Cajun and Creole food, desserts and music. Make sure you participate in the "Second Line" that will parade through the grounds led by a New Orleans Jazz Band.
There will be plenty for the children to do - rides, slides, moon walk, face painting and more. You are welcomed to bring your own blankets, strollers and wheelchairs (ADA accessible).

It's April and San Antonio is in the early stages of celebrating our Annual Fiesta! Dates for this year's Fiesta are April 18th thru April 27th. There are 100 events this year scheduled over 10 days. Many events are free, however, the events that do require tickets sell out quickly. Check on the Official Fiesta Website for ticket information.
