I love my job. I get to learn something new just about every day!   I have had 3 situations recently that required me to think about how things done locally have to mesh with things done in Foreign Parts.In the first instance, a Canadian National wanted to buy a condo in Dallas.  What I found out is that for her to do that, she would have to pay cash.  In order for her to borrow money, it could only be with a US lending institution.  And, her Canadian credit history won't help her.  She has to establish credit in the US.  And, … (1 comments)

When you are looking at a home to purchase, you have to think about the location first and foremost.  The following is a list of things to think about....because you will want to resell this home eventually and you will want someone to come buy the house from you.  Take it from me, almost no one wants to live in a house if it:1. Ignore Paint Color. Ignore the furniture. Ignore the family photos. Your job is to see the bones and only the bones!Make notes as you go. If you see more than 3 in a day the details are just going to run together. Another trick to help you remember is to name the house. Stand in the entry hall on your way out of the house and give the house a name.Look at the size of the rooms. Most updating doesn't involve moving the walls around. I recently came across a Live Music Venue in Arlington that has a whole lot going for it.  It is the right price (free).  They obviously focus on providing a variety of musical genres.  It doesn't matter what sort of music you enjoy, they are going to have someone on their calendar that does it!
