A great place to visit and enjoy a great meal is Rippington's in Waxhaw, NC. Waxhaw is just 12 miles south of Charlotte, NC. Here is a little history about Waxhaw, NC. "Welcome to the official website of the Town of Waxhaw, NC...where small-town charm still exists! As one of the oldest towns in Union County, Waxhaw takes its name from the Waxhaws, an Indian tribe that once inhabited the area. Our close proximity to Charlotte allows us the much sought after balance of both small town charm and big city convenience. Dating back to the 1770's, we strive daily to pay tribute to our rich (4 comments)
There has not been a white Christmas in Charlotte, NC since 1947. Well, I am happy to say that this year, 2010 has changed that record. It started to snow late Christmas day and this is what I awakened to yesterday. Absolutely beautiful. This is my female Boxer, Lady Lilly (brindle) playing with a foster puppy, Napoleon. They had a blast. Her face made me laugh. Tomorrow.... the Best Gift that You can Give is Your Time! "To A Child...Love Is Spelled Time" - 12/24/10 10:31 PM
Tomorrow....the Best Gift that You can Give is Your Time! I found this video and read these words and thought it very appropriate for Christmas day. With all of the hustle and bustle, shopping for gifts, decorating, preparing our menus, food shopping, gift wrapping, making cookies, preparing Christmas dinner and etc...it is so easy to miss the mot inportant thing. Spending time and enjoying our loved ones. This quote really made me think... "To the world you may be just one person...but to one person, you might just be the world." Pay it Forward...Providing a Foster Home to a pup Over Christmas in Charlotte, NC - 12/17/10 10:43 PM
Pay it forward, providing a foster home to a pup over Christmas. I volunteer for Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue. Yesterday I was checking the e-mails from Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue. They had just pulled a beautiful 7 month old Brindle boxer named Napoleon. He had been dumped at a boarding facility due to his owners getting a divorce. Napoleon needed a temporary foster home until December 27, 2010. After a moments consideration I decided to agree to foster this fur-baby. He is available for adoption. I decided that he deserved a Merry Christmas. I brought Napoleon home today to meet my gang. I have (10 comments)

Come and enjoy McAdenville better known as "Christmas Town, USA". This small town is west of Charlotte, NC and is in Gaston county and lies along the South Fork River. This year the magic and transformation of this small textile town into "Christmas Town, USA" is enjoyed from December 1, 2010 thru December 26, 2010. Speaking of traditions, this tradition began in 1956 when 9 trees were decorated. Last year more than 370 trees were decorated and they decorate live trees only. Featured on the Food Network twice...Price's Chicken Coop in Charlotte, NC - 12/07/10 08:21 PM
Featured on the Food Network twice is Price's Chicken Coop in Charlotte, NC. When you visit Charlotte and ask where to go to get the best fried chicken you will always get the response of Price's Chicken Coop especially if you ask a native Charlottean. If you visit this restaurant, don't plan to eat there for there is no seating, but take-out only. You will also be surprised at the lines of people waiting for take-out. I am amazed at how many agents show up for realtor luncheons when the agents know that Price's Chicken Coop chicken is the food that is being (2 comments)
A Very Touching Story...."Forgotten Dog's Christmas" - 12/06/10 07:42 PM
"Forgotten Dog's Christmas" is a very touching story. As soon as I read it I thought that I would share. At this time of year many families are considering a new puppy for their children. This makes one think of the responsibility for this sweet life. Enjoy! Forgotten Dog's Christmas 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the houseNot a creature was stirring, not even a mouseThe stockings were hung by the chimney with careIn hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be thereThe children were nestled all snug in their bedsWith no thought of the dog filling their headAnd mamma in her 'kerchief, (4 comments)
