charlottehomeinfo: Christmas Photo Contest .. Keller Williams SouthPark Enjoying Their Christmas Party - 12/03/11 06:25 AM
Last Evening was our Keller Williams SouthPark Christmas Party.

As you can see there was a great turn-out and all enjoyed.  It was held in a builder’s model home so a win-win for all.  The builder got to show off this beautiful model home to many realtors last evening.

You can see that I was having a great time and posed with fellow agent Jonathan Osman.  Of course we were in the food line.

It was so nice to see everyone decked out and looking their best.

charlottehomeinfo: Pay it Forward.... Giving Back to Toys for Tots! - 11/29/11 03:09 PM
Pay it forward... giving back to Toys for Tots!

Today as I arrived at our SouthPark Keller Williams office, I noticed a big U-Haul truck sitting in front of our building and two Marines were busy getting boxes out of the back of the truck.

The two Marines followed me into our building and actually delivered the boxes to our office.  There was a recent article concerning Toys for Tots and that the donations were really down this year.

Once again our office is pulling together and everyone will be picking up a toy to bring to our … (7 comments)

charlottehomeinfo: Thomas Kincaid..The Painter of Light to Release his new Painting "The Lights of Christmastown" - 11/27/11 02:17 PM
McAdenville, NC is just a little west of Charlotte, NC in Gaston county.  It is a sleepy textile town until Christmas time and then... Watch out!!  It lights up and is known as Christmastown, USA.

McAdenville has been hoping the past few years that Thomas Kincaid would decide to paint this very quaint village and to their surprise and pleasure it has happened.

"You will not want to miss a chance at this historic opportunity.  Thom has only painted NC twice before, with
Elegant Evening at Biltmore Cape Hatteras Light and now McAdenville as The Lights of Christmastown."

charlottehomeinfo: Black Friday Reminds me Of Alfred Hitchcock's ...The Birds - 11/25/11 02:05 PM
Today was Black Friday and I stayed as far away from the malls as I could.  I had no desire to get caught up in the pushing and shoving.

I was looking out onto our front lawn and black birds were everywhere.  They must be migrating  and moving south.  This was looking towards our neighbors house.

Here was the first photo...

As I watched from the window the birds took flight and what a flurry.  It reminded me of how the malls would be today.  I decided to stay away from the malls.

Today our SouthPark Keller William's office had our annual "pot luck Thanksgiving luncheon"  from 11am-1pm.

Every agent brought a dish to share and we all got together to give thanks for all that we have.  It was absolutely lovely today.  It was well attended and the food was delicious.  There was so much to choose from and many returned for seconds and thirds.  I was good...I did not go back for seconds or thirds.

We started the meal by an agent saying a beautiful prayer over the meal.

Everyone then got their plates and went around the huge food filled … (12 comments)

charlottehomeinfo: First Heavy Frost of The Season in Charlotte, NC - 11/12/11 10:58 AM
This morning it was white with frost.  In fact I did a double take when I looked out the window.  It was still dark, but the ground was white.  I actually thought it had snowed.

In this picture you can see that the rose bushes still have roses in bloom.  I will be busy cutting back all of these gardens, so that they can rest for the winter.

The next big rain will take off the leaves and trees will be bare.

No matter what season, it is always beautiful in Charlotte, NC.

Everyday there are so many things to be thankful for and today I have to share that I am thankful for Melissa Messick with New American Mortgage.

Over the years I have worked with many lenders/loan officers and Melissa Messick is one of the best.  From the moment she speaks with a potential buyer she is engaged and interested in providing them with the best service.  She is with them from start to finish and even comes to closing.

Many times I have had buyers call her to get advice when the lender they have chosen to use is not … (8 comments)

charlottehomeinfo: I Have to Have a Red Door!! - 10/29/11 01:51 PM
Today I was working with a really nice couple from Ireland and as we looked at houses she kept making references for needing to have a red door on whatever house they end up buying.

After I dropped them off I decided to do some research on the meaning of a red door and found some very interesting facts...

To many people a red door means "welcome."
For the Irish, their meaning for a red door is to ward off evil spirits and ghosts.
Red is a lucky and sacred color for the Chinese.  In fact they … (14 comments)

Years ago I was so lucky to meet the many wonderful directors and volunteers with Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue.  I started really slow when I first volunteered with Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue.

You can volunteer your time to attend and assist with fundraisers. You can volunteer to help transport animals.  They have to be transported from where they are rescued from to their foster homes or to the vetinarian for appts.  You can donate money. Today was a beautiful day in Charlotte.  At one point it was about 76 degrees and the sun was out and the sky was blue.  Just a yummy day and am so grateful for beautiful fall days like these.
Last year I planted a silver maple tree and it is growing fast.  I noticed this morning that the top of it is beginning to turn red.

The mums continue to bloom and are beautiful.

I would be thrilled if it stayed like this all winter.

If you live in South Charlotte or head out to Union county on Rea Road when going home in the evening then watch for the Pumpkin Patch.

Yesterday I was on my way to meet clients, but had to stop when I saw this lovely sea of color.  The Pumpkin Patch had mums of every color and size.  There were all shapes and sizes of pumpkins.  It was really fun watching the children as they decided which pumpkin was going home with them.  They were also selling corn stalks in bunches.  It was a fun experience.
