As professional stagers, our job is to help sellers prepare their home to show the best it can when its on the market!  I would venture to say that every successful stager most likely has had an occasional property not sell for some reason or another that staging could not overcome.  So here's a story of one of mine.  I was contacted by an agent to stage her listing last year. I know it has been talked about before, but you can't talk enough about the importance of a fresh coat of paint when selling your house.  It will make all the difference when marketing your house to potential buyers.   It's simple, inexpensive, and provides a much better first impression than a house with personalized paint or different colors in each room that don't flow together nicely.  Here's a couple before and after photos of an occupied home staging I recently did where the homeowner painted all the colorful rooms neutral.  What a difference a can of paint can make!
