update dated decor: Painted Paneling B&A Photos! - 11/06/08 06:54 AM
I recently asked the question What Would You Do In This Space?  about a dark, paneled space that I encouraged the sellers to paint.  Thankfully they were on board with that recommendation.  I staged the room as I originally wanted, as a sitting room, not a dining space.  These pictures show the power of paint to freshen up an outdated room!  Unfortunately, the trim and woodwork was not painted white as I suggested (that will need to be fixed) but I still think the transformation is tremendous.  The color used is Sherwin Williams Softer Tan SW6141.

update dated decor: Dated Home Update - Photos! - 03/26/07 09:45 PM
Wanted to post an update to my Dated Home Needs Staging - Help blog.  Thought I'd share a couple photos so you can see what I did.  I ended up just ignoring the mirror over the bed since I couldn't pull off any of the great suggestions some stagers gave me, it just didn't look right.  Unfortunately, the angle I took the picture from you don't see the pretty reflection, but the TV - Oops!  I'm still not the best photographer!

update dated decor: Dated Home Needs Staging - HELP! - 03/21/07 02:28 PM
Attention all you creative AR stagers!  I need some suggestions for a dated home I'm staging on Monday.  Budget is limited and what you see is what you get.  In other words, there won't be any new updated furniture or paint, and the mirror over the bed is not coming down. It's attached on the wall and there's no wallpaper behind it and she didn't want to bother taking it down and all the wallpaper.   Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  My main concern is somehow making this living room sofa (and chair) work... maybe remove the chaise part, but what else besides a couple throw pillows?  And … (7 comments)
