Northwest Arkansas has finally fallen prey to national real estate trends. In the 4th quarter of 2006 Fayetteville's prices, for example, fell 14%, but in Benton County prices continued rising. But those prices fell in the first quarter of 2007 for the first time in several years. With an oversupply of homes on the market, especially over $200K, it is definitely a buyer's market. This is actually a very good time to purchase a home, since even with recent up-ticks in interest rates, prices have moderated and there are some bargains to be had.
