Friday's Home Section (10/10/2008) had a first-page article titled "A Tale of Two Orlands." It offers a little history, Orland Park amenities and a bit of Orland Park real estate info.
Judy Orr was interviewed for the article as her office, Classic Realty Group, is located in Orland Park and Judy has been selling real estate in the village since 1983. There were a few other locals interviewed for the article and it gives a nice community profile of this thriving village.

My husband isn't the most romantic guy in the world and I think he just got lucky with this particular bouquet.  I have no idea where he got it from (I'm assuming our local grocery store), but I just had to share what, in my memory, is one of the prettiest bouquets I've ever received.  And it was really for Valentine's Day - but maybe waving my 1099 in his face with my spoils for 2007 (done when I got it, not trying to bribe him into a good gift) nudged him to put a little more thought into his selection!  … (5 comments)

Having been in the biz for 24 years I've seen it all.  Well, almost everything.  Some agents have seen naked homeowners and thank goodness I haven't had that opportunity.But a disturbing trend I've seen more than in the past are many homes stuffed with furniture that a buyer simply can't see the actual rooms.  A couple of weeks ago I was showing homes in Orland Park.  We entered a nice brick split level home that was very large.  However, when we stepped into the long living room, there were large French Provincial sofas and love seats (white with the white/gold wood) … (5 comments)

The weather is perfect for this weekend's Centennial Street Fest in Forest Park, IL.  The festival starts today and runs through Sunday and will be located at the south grove on Van Buren south of Madison St.  The CTA Blue Line's stop is very close and the Green Line will get you into Forest Park, too.  
There will be carnival rides, food and musical talent.  My husband's band, The New Invaders, will be playing tonight and will be opening for American English.  The Ides of March will also be playing this weekend.  It is suggested that you bring a chair or blanket.  … (0 comments)

real estate: Berwyn Offers Much More than Being Svengooli's Home Town - 04/18/07 04:50 PM
When I first started selling real estate the only thing I really knew about Berwyn was that it was part of a gag on The Svengooli TV show started by Jerry G. Bishop as the original Svengooli and since taken over by Rich Koz who started out as the Son of Svengooli until he was promoted to plain old Svengooli.  I always thought that one of the Svengooli's was originally from Berwyn, therefore the gag, but I can't find why Berwyn was chosen.  Anyway, the series has been on different channels, won awards, cancelled and can still be seen on WCIU … (6 comments)

real estate: Listed as one of Money Magazine's Top 100 Cities in the U.S.! - 04/09/07 05:26 PM
That city is Orland Park IL and it is listed as the 45th best city to live in according to Money Magazine's 2006 list.  Money Magazine uses many different demographics to create their annual list.
I have to agree since Orland Park is one of the most popular southwest suburbs that I work in.  One of my brick and mortar offices is located in this bustling village.
