Kent, Washington: Home Staged Home...it's so SWEET! - 06/24/07 01:08 AM
A Staged Home can take some adjustment in order to live in it while it is being sold, however, in the case of this staged home, the residents loved the feel of their new space, even the children, who found their rooms to be special and "like a princess" would live in. Having less items around to put away keeps the home tidy and easy to care for. Home Staging is all about creating a beautiful atmosphere that the future homeowner can envision themselves in, and often times, the home sellers find themselves wanting to live there as well! Auburn, Washington Interior Redesign - Episode One... Meet the Goats! - 06/23/07 11:38 PM
OUR PASSION for creating lovable, livable spaces recently took us to a great home full of personality -- inside and out -- newly built in the Southeast Washington countryside. Our project home sat on acres of fields, all fenced to contain the rescued goats roaming freely on the property. Our homeowners passion, her love of animals, consumed her free hours when not at her job, took hours of time and care. Her new home was filled with all treasures, memoirs from family, travel, and favorite finds -- yet it didn't seem to flow, and the home was in need of a decorative touch (4 comments)
Covington, WA: Remodeled - Staged - Sold!...For 10K Over Asking Price! - 06/21/07 09:51 PM
This Covington, Washington bungalow was recently remodeled with an Arts and Crafts style. Competingwith contemporary town-homes and condos in the area can be a challenge for an older home, but the desirable Arts and Crafts style, accentuated by the perfect furnishings and decor, sparkled with a style all it's own. After our staging, multiple bids came in during the open house, and when all was said and done, this home brought in 10,000 over the asking price!

Ravensdale, Washington: Staged Home Brings 2 Offers in 4 Days! - 06/17/07 09:25 PM
This home sat on the market with absolutely no offers coming in for 5 months -- and then Real Estate Stagers Julianna Hind and Barbi Ford of Roomspinners came to the rescue with a beautiful staging. The homeowners were amazed by the quick sale after the home was staged! Real Estate Staging highlights the home's best features, and when done by a professional and experienced stager, will capture the buyers heart when they enter the home. Statistically speaking, a home buyer will make up thier mind in 10 seconds or less, on whether that home is for them or not. In other words... (13 comments)
Restaurant Redesign in Maple Valley, WA -- Before and Afters! - 06/09/07 04:39 PM
Maple Valley, Washington Last spring, My partner, Barbi Ford and I were invited to participate on a room redesign on a grand scale! Chef Angela Backus Anderson leased the long-time "Caruso's Restaurant" building in order to fulfill her lifelong dream, opening her own fine dining restaurant and catering. Our Interior Redesign and Staging company, Roomspinners, was brought in to help make the older, somewhat dilapidated decor transform into a "Fine Dining" look... and boy was our work cut out for us! BEFORE AFTER
The Maple Club opened with limited hours, but recently expanded to serve breakfast and after many requests. And yes, they serve a great (30 comments)

Becoming a Certified Color Consultant - 06/05/07 12:35 AM
Becoming a Certified Color ConsultantWhat is a Dewey Color Consultant? I am an Instructor for the Dewey people, so let me try to answer some of your questions. Design school and other color courses teach theory, but theory can be hard to apply. Dewey teaches theory too, but takes it and puts it into a tool, the "coordinator" that helps you understand and use color like ingredients for a great recipe, and in a way that makes sense to your clients. Many decorators wrestle with trying to communicate color with with their clients but they don't get it, they don't know (3 comments)
The Active Rain Birthday Event in Seattle - One Stager's Report - 06/03/07 10:25 PM
Yesterday, in Seattle, was the BIG 1 Year Anniversary Party for Active Rain, and when I heard it was taking place in my own back yard (Well, ok, Magnolia is a little bit of a drive from Maple Valley although MapQuest says 35 minutes) -- I knew I couldn't miss it! The day was gorgeous! We couldn't have asked for better weather, in fact, it was so sunny and warm, one might have asked Pacific Northwest Rainmaker, Matt Heaton, "Now why is it called Active RAIN again?" It was great to meet founders Matt, Lydia, James and Caleb... and I am sure I met (14 comments)
