The number of homes for sale are down, while pending and closed sales are up in Vancouver, WA (Clark County):
 
Average price per square foot in Clark County WA steadily declined during the last 12 months, but experienced a slight turn upwards in March..
Days on the market in the Vancouver WA area are down, while list to sale price ratios have stayed close to the same all year...
Months of inventory for SW Washington at higher than normal levels for the first quarter of 2011, but have gone down in the forst quarter of 2011...

Every morning, I pull up the foreclosure "hot sheet" on the local MLS of Portland and Vancouver. This search lists only REO/bank owned properties in Clark, Skamania, Cowlitz, Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties of Oregon and Washington State – new listings, price reductions, and homes that fell out of escrow and are back on the market. I like to know what properties are available daily in our market area.

Clark County WA is getting a new Veterans Assistance Center and needs the public support. To raise money for the opening, Salmon Creek Applebee's and the Clark County Veterans Assistance Center Committee (CCVAC) are sponsoring a fundraiser breakfast called "Freedom Flapjack". Tickets are $7.00 and will cover your pancake breakfast.  
The mission of the Clark County Veterans Assistance Center Committee is to help all veterans and their families meet basic needs and provide timely, effective services and resources.

I know this topic has been addressed, and I know that HAFA will change some of these timelines for qualified sellers. However, in light of many changes in how the banks are handling short sales, I feel it is worth revisiting. I am always upfront with the timeline so buyers/buyers agents know exactly what they are getting into. I answer at least 5 calls a day from agents asking me... "Do you think we can get approval before the tax credit expires???" My answer is always that "I can't promise that", and here is why.

Washougal High School ASB students organized a huge school and community food drive and collected 35,560 lbs. of canned food and toys. This record donation will go to Children's Home Society's East County Family Resource Center, to help local families in need.

Students were pulling dollar bills of their own money out of their pockets to donate during an assembly in an effort to beat rival, Camas High School, which resulted in hundreds of extra dollars to contribute to the cause. In addition, they sold raffle tickets, sang Christmas carols at Safeway, held signs asking for contributions on many Washougal street corners, and more. … (0 comments)
